CPNE Grady 19-21 March

Passed Grady no failures, first time on all PCS. I ended up with 5 different patients, one decided he didn't want us in his room ( he hadn't had breakfast) and another went AWOL ripped his IV out and left the hospital. I was finished by 1030 on Sunday.

There was 3 of us that had taken Sheri Taylors CPNE workshop all of us passed first time with no repeats, all finished by 1030. i know for a fact there is no way I would have passed first time without a workshop of some type.

Once I get back home and settle down some I'll post some more info.

Thats awesome, congrats!! :yeah: I just became eligible last week and I am doing my practice clinical tomorrow. That is probably where I will be testing. How long did you have to wait?

Jennifer,

If you are planning on doing your CPNE at Grady it shouldn't take all that long if you do it right.

I had my paperwork in by the middle of December, I waited about a month and noticed that my CPNE status was unchanged, so I called EC they referred me to Stephanie Scott. I called Stephanie and asked her how long it would take to get a date, and was told it would be 6 months or so. I then asked her about cancellations she told me she had plenty of them, I was offered a date just about every weekend, I chose the end of Feb at Southern. After attending Sheri Taylor's workshop she recommended Grady. I called Stephanie to change, I was given a new date 2 days later and within two weeks of my original date. So it took me a bit over 3 months to finish my paperwork and to test.

If you are planning on testing at Grady, you should have a great time. Yes, Grady is downtown Atlanta and is an inner city teaching hospital, but the patients you will be working with know the difference between the normal nursing students and the EC students and want to be helpful.

So good luck to you and remember to enjoy yourself at the CPNE I know the stress will eat you up, but once you get over it have some fun.
