CPNE, Excelsior

Published

Just passed my final FCCA. That's it. Next step, the CPNE. If anyone else is in the same "clique", please write me! I started Excelsior in 2008/2009...Not exactly sure. Had a munchkin in late 2009 and got completely sidetracked. Never thought I would get back on track, but she's 6 now, and somehow I got back on track and last night took my final FCCA. I plan on signing up for the first-available CPNE, not implying I am ready, I am not! But it would great to hear what other people will do in preparation.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

Grace, are you aware of the 7-year enrollment time limit? You need to find out ASAP when your enrollment expires. The wait for the CPNE is long, and if you hit that 7-year mark while waiting, you are dismissed from the program. You can ask for an extension if you have a good reason for taking so long to complete the program, but that request process takes time too.

Congratulations!!!!!. I am at the end of both FCCA, exams due August 21st. Did your application go well for CPNE? Any idea when you test? I would love to stay in contact with you. Email me at [email protected].

Specializes in EMT since 92, Paramedic since 97, RN and PHRN 2021.
