Coworker talking on cell phone while counting narcs!

Long story short...

I go to count narcs with another nurse amd she starts talking on her cell... while I'm trying to count. I asked her to either hang it up or call me when she's done on the phone and next thing I know I'm getting cursed out.

I don't get it. Am I the only one that think its unprofessional, rude, and careless to talk on a ceell phone while counting narcs with another nurse?,,

Unprofessional to be on the cell during her working hours.

Unprofessional to resent your reasonable expectation that she pay attention while engaging in a shared responsibility.

Unprofessional to curse at you for any reason.

I would encourage you to let her know that you will not take kindly to any repeat of this sorry performance. What we permit, we promote.

You don't have to get all weird or indignant about it. Just say, "When we count narcs, I expect your full attention.." If she gives you any flack, talk to your manager.
