Hi everyone!
I'm looking to get some help writing my cover letter for a nursing program I'm trying to get into. Its an accelerated BSN program which requires no experience, just a Bachelors degree.
Therefore, my letter needs to focus on my school, volunteer work and personal assets.
My main question is how to handle some personal things. I want it to have a slightly personal touch but to be completely professional. I am a 26 year old cancer survivor. My experiences going through cancer and my treatment were extremely important to me and were pivotal in my decision to pursue nursing. I want to highlight on this in my cover letter but don't want to get too personal.
How should I go about this??
Thanks in advance for any input!

I would certainly mention your experience with battling and surviving cancer (congratulations, by the way!) if it played a role in how you came to nursing
I tend to not exceed 1 page with cover letters. Cover letters should highlight why you are a competitive candidate, so I would emphasize your strengths and your passion for healthcare.
Thank you! It's been a tough battle but I made it!
I can't even imagine. I would love to look over your cover letter when you've finished, if you don't mind!
I'm doing an Oncology rotation this semester, and I'm really excited. I was disappointed at first that I wouldn't be in the PCU, but I have never worked with oncology patients, so it will be a new experience.
