At my school there are 'extras' that are technically covered in the program, but you can also take separately to be better prepared. Things like nutrition, dosage calculations, pharmacology, pathophysiology.... Also CPR/first aid certification is sometimes offered for credit and you usually need that. I know many financial aid students take these while they are waiting for the program to start.

the pharmacology one and physio seems good and legit. i will check those out. i also just wanna make sure my GPA stays or goes up, don't want anything that can affect my grade.
I second the nutrition, dosage calculations, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and first aid.
You might consider logic/critical thinking, microeconomics, or self defense.
A compter class could be helpful, perhaps one on desktop publishing or putting together presentations if your basic skills are pretty good.
I did human nutrition, pharmacology, medical terminology, pathophysiology, medical ethics, and biological anthropology. I still have to wait until March to start and I'm REALLY out of classes now :)
for some reason, i was looking up the medical terminology one because my bro who's in medical school, said that's one of the best courses you can take if you're going into the medical field. but it's requiring i already be in the field to take it, which makes no sense. like you have to have an upper level acceptance to a health sciences program to even register for the damn courses.
but imma look human nutrition and see if they have it, and medical ethics and so forth. really wanna keep within the medical classes, and not stray =/
Public speaking is always a good one, so is a nursing informatics course. Maybe keyboarding?
yeah sounds good but i type about 100 plus words per minute. and have taken typing courses in high school that got me about there and a job that required it. but maybe there's something in that aspect, specifically for nurses at my school? i'll check it out!
thanks guys!
If none of those classes are available, what about a medical Spanish or a regular Spanish course?
What about a first aid class?
Have you talked to a nursing adviser to see what s/he says? You might get a little more insight this way. I'm sure you aren't the only student to ever need to fill some time.
