Coursera Classes

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

A few weeks ago someone had posted on here about coursera. I looked into it and signed up for a couple of courses and I must say I absolutely loved it!! I am taking a neurobiology course through The University of Chicago right now and it has been great.

First off, it is free!! You will not receive college credit for it but the vast wealth of information on this site is awesome. It is an actual college course. If you want a verified certificate of completion for the class you have to sign up and pay $49, but if you are like me and just want the knowledge it is absolutely free.

I have just wrapped up my third week of neurobiology and I have learned so much about the brain and how it develops and works. If anyone has any interest in just some extra learning this is a great site.

I start a vital signs course tomorrow and am looking forward to it. Now my inner nerd has officially come out. Yes, I like to learn on my own. :cheeky:

Specializes in public health, women's health, reproductive health.

I am loving the vital signs course so far. I have signed up for a few more classes that start later in the summer, too. I don't have a lot of time, but it's interesting how learning something without being under pressure is reviving my interest in LEARNING. That probably doesn't make sense, but it's true. I just feel like it's opening my mind up again even to nursing school, which has been rather grueling as of late...

Thank you for posting about these types of classes because I would not have known about them otherwise!

Specializes in Psychiatry.

The site looks great. I will be taking Neurobiology as part of my NP course. I should take the free courses here to get a head start on learning. :)
