I'm seriously considering taking the following classes in the fall and wonder if it would be too much. I'm not working another job and don't have a baby.

Human Physiology & Lab: 4 sem hrs

Pharmacology: 3 sem hrs

Intro to Microbiology: 4 sem hrs

Thanks for your opinion.

I wouldn't want to have A&P AND Micro in the same semester...especially not with Pharm thrown in there.

I took A&P II and Micro in the same semester and got As in both. If you don't work full time and have no children, you should have plenty of time to devote to studying. I don't see why it would be a problem. JMO.

I took Advanced A &P, Micro, plus two other classes and will admit I had to drop Micro. Plus I was working a lot, had a brand new puppy at home and all kinds of other responsibilities. My advice is don't take them at the same time, but thats just me

Sure, it can be done. But...why put yourself through it?

Okay, I'm thinking that our classes are more than likely quite different, but I've taken human physiology and I've taken intro to microbiology, and I'm taking pharmacology right now. Micro and Pharm were pretty easy, human physiology was quite a bit of work though. But everybody is different, and some people like different workloads, it's hard to say whether those classes would be a lot of work for you. I've always taken 4 or 5 while working, but I'm always also overly stressed lol.

When I took A&P II, I was also taking Intro to Microbiology, Intro to Nursing, Nutrition, and Native Studies, and I found it a really easy semester actually.

You should be fine I think. It will be hard but you won't drive yourself crazy over it.

I took A&P, Microbiology, Sociology, and Psychology in one semester and did pretty well (As and A-s and a B in Micro). Granted, Pharmocology is harder than Sociology and Psych combined, but still...with only 11 semesters hours you should have lots of studying time. It really depends on you though and how well you study and how much motivation you have! Good luck!

The reason? To get into real nursing classes a semester early.

I took A&P II, microbiology & biochem II in one semester. I got A's in both biochem & micro and got a B in A&P II, but that is because I didn't study as hard for that class. :chair: My school requires a 2.75 overall GPA for admission into the program, then they look at your science classes and average them together, then decide the GPA they are going to use to cut off students. When I applied, A&P wasn't a class that was considered for that science average - it was only biochem I & II and micro, which is why I focused more on those two classes vs. A&P II. They're changing it for next year's nursing class, though - A&P is now a pre-requisite vs. a co-requisite. In my experience, taking A&P and microbiology together is definitely doable. I have not taken pharmacology yet, but I don't see why you couldn't take that too. You're just going to have to do some time management with those three classes to make sure you do well in them. Good luck!
