After applying to nursing school for the past, and 3 yrs of heart ache, I was finally accepted into the ADN at my local school. I'm counting the hours to the mandatory meeting, have already set Dr.'s appt for the physical, got the shots, etc.. I've even bought a stethoscope and BP cuff and found someone to teach me to read BPs!!! Today I even ordered a bookbag!! I have thought about quiting my job, I've worked for the state for 7 years, but have decided against it because I believe that once I have finished with school they will hire me for a nursing position. HOW PERFECT work mon-fri 8:30-5:00 weekends off, holidays off, Annual leave, sick leave and flexible hours work hours. I'm so ready to get the chapter in my life started, I've got the support of my husband, family and friends!! IM SO EXCITED, plus I know that I'm setting a good example for my nieces and my daughter to pursue your dreams.
Congrats to everyone!!! I was accepted into the ADN program as well and I can not wait to start. Our orientation is August 1. I have my physical and immunizations taken care of. I'm waiting to find out exactly what books I need. By the way, I have a lot of family in Myrtle Beach!!! :) Good luck guys!!!
Good luck to you! I am also counting down the days until my first day of school. I pretty much have everything I need like immunizations, background check, books, uniforms etc. I am trying to balance enjoying the rest of my summer with work and some reading for pathophysiology. My first day is August 29th!

Congrats to everyone! I start my program in 44 days...September 4th. We had our orientation on July 17th and it made me even more excited to start! I have my uniforms now and most of my textbooks and supplies, aside from my stethoscope, which my mom wants to get for me as a gift. I can't wait!!!
