I was at clinical today in an emergency room. I drew blood on my patient, and had a little bit on my glove. When I took my gloves off, I had a small amount on my upper right hand/wrist. My skin is completely intact. I immediately washed my hands and used alcohol based hand sanitizer. My patient was positive for hep C. Is there a risk that I could have contracted hepatitis C? About two hours later I ate lunch, and I just wonder if there would be anyway that it could have gotten into my mouth at that time. I am just trying to ease my mind.

You really need to speak to your pcp or occupational nurse. This is something we really can not answer here as per Terms of Service and offering medical advice

Your a Nurse. You would know the procedures expected . If you did what you have been trained to do the only thing getting into your mouth would be your foot.

You say your skin was intact. You say you washed thoroughly. Even though you are a student nurse, you should still understand how little risk is here. Talk to your clinical instructor or your primary care physician. This sounds like a non event.

OP referenced being at "clinical" and is probably a nursing student rather than a nurse. Oh, and it would be *you're a nurse. Taste the foot.
