I am in week 1 of COT. I have some ideas you may want to jump on. Since they were major challenges this week.

Get your uniforms complete!! Get you name tapes and rank sewn on your ABU's at all costs. Do up the buttons and get strings off. Wear your boots!!! I wore mine hiking a couple times and still my feet are bruised.

Get yourself some kind of portable web link device. Mine is from sprint. It costs $60 a month. Money well spent. No one else can get online barely.

Bring a printer, extra ink, paper, scissors, tape, etc. Be prepared.

There have been some really amazing challenges already and there are more to come!!

Congrats on graduation!! A huge accomplishment and well deserved. I can not wait to be come part of the club...soon. Carolina the pix looks just like the same for BMT's in Lackland. Just talked to my recruiter and he is putting the paperwork in for a bump to the October calss, won't hold my breath but we'll see. Its only a bump of one class but at my age (lol) anything helps!! Oh Carolina bought a Timex watch with a stop watch at the Exchange yesterday...cheap and functional.

It IS very much like the parade grounds here, but it's a lot smaller (I didn't really realize that until I got down here at Lackland and stood on the bomb run for the first time in 14 years - the grounds here are HUGE).

Pooh,

I'm the commander of airman at our graduation parade on Friday. I am the one front and center yelling the commands! I've always been in the back or the formation and never been a part of the parade, so it's really an honor. BUT.... I have 5 pages of lines to learn!! lol.

We have AEF this week then I'm out of here on Friday. So excited!

HAPPY GRADUATION!!! :D

somewhere on this site, i read that someone recommended under armour socks for the boots. i found a link to some and was wondering which ones, if there was a specific kind, that were recommended.

None of those are acceptable per reg. The only place I've ever seen the sage green Under Armour socks that are acceptable per AF reg is military clothing sales on base, where they're $6 or $7 a pair (and worth every single penny).

Carolina, can you give me some advice on which tee shirts are the best. Went to the AFB near my house in MA and figures I would pick up afew things. Thought I would get acouple of packages of the sand color tee shirts, there are about 5 different brands and blends....HELP. I did get one package of the 100% but I would like to get some more.

Also I finished reading We Band of Angels, excellent book! Started a Hap Arnold book this morning.

I have the best T-shirts!! Everyone wants to know where I got them. The are the Dri-Duke brand. I got them at Luke AFB in Phoenix. They are the driweave ones that dry quick and breathe! They look and feel better when you are out there sweating at COT.

Exactly the ones I was going to recommend. They're sort of like generic Under Armour but they're not as formfitting.
