I'm just curious about what the costs for LPN school are now in different areas. I went to school in 1969 and cost of the ENTIRE course was $150 at our vocational school. This included books, two uniforms, two caps (yes, I'm old..but I loved my cap), lunches in the cafeteria during clinicals, and our graduation uniform and pin. I can't even imagine what it is now.
Has anyone compared the cost of your LPN school to the cost of the RN program at your local community college ? Any tuition above 5,000 dollars is a rip off. These school sappear to be taking advantage of people desperate to go into nursing. Especially the private schools. This is from Ventura College website, The complete Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program, including tuition, books, fees, insurance, uniforms, equipment, dues, badges, and testing, potentially costs $2,800 to $3,500. Remember your getting an actual college degree and your RN. How can these other schools justify these high tuition costs it is inexcusable... Don't not let your emotions sway you and get you into massive debt over a vocational education.

I'm in North Mississippi and the CC's LPN program is going to run a hair under $5K, including books, uniforms, various fees, etc.
