The total for books for intro to nursing class at my school totals $650 (only the required books btw). BUT you use a lot of those books for subsequent classes as well so it at least works out a little bit. I was actually okay w/ that considering that I took three classes this summer at the CC and ended up w/ $450 in books, only one of which I will probably keep after the classes are over! I about puked!
My school lists the first semester books at $700! For 2 classes! At our college bookstore there is an entire row (about 5 ft long) of books for first semester students. And they are all required. I don't see how I could possible use all those!
You know what gets me- I spend about $600 a semester on books (for 5 classes) and then when I sell then back I usually get $110 back then the next semster I see they took $10 off the price I bought them for last semsester! Talk about Profit!
i spent about a thousand on first semester including my pda and software (required). second semester i needed one: it was about $150. i need two more 1 for mental health and 1 for leadership and management. first semester books are used throughout our program, fundamentals as a resource and med-surg for med-surg ii and iii.

gotta vent really quick guys but i got a book list for 1 of my classes (into to prof nursing) and it called for 10 books! just for one class! I went to half.com and found all of them and it equaled up to be $250 for just one class! i thought this was ridiculous. Did you guys have to shell out so much for just this class?
