:eek:Hello Everyone -

I am a new nurse and completely confused on what I am supposed to do for CEC's for the state of PA. I beleive I need 30 credits....is it per year? Dp employers usually provide this or do you guys usually do it on your own? Any advice is appreciated!!! Iam LOST. (I got my RN back in July) THANK YOU!!!!

Specializes in home health, dialysis, others.

The information is most likley on their website. Look it up.

Specializes in SICU.

You need to do it yourself. The amount needed is for every time you renew your license. I don't know PA, but it is probably every 2 years. You can get CEU's from nursing magazines, professional organizations and conferences.

Specializes in jack of all trades.

Check your state website or call your BON as if you are a new grad you most likely dont need them for your 1st renewal depending on the date of licensure. I'm licensed in 3 states non-compact (PA being one) and need different amounts for each state lol. Also be sure it's CEU's approved by your state. Not all CEU offerings are acceptable.

Specializes in Psych, Med/Surg, LTC.

I am from PA. You have to do 30 CEU's each time you renew your license, so 30 CEU's every 2 years. I did mine for free via medscape.com. It is very time consuming to do it this way, but you can't beat free!

Thank you so much for givng me such a clear answer and for cutting to the chase like that. I actualy heard another nurse talking about Medscape today. Thank you!!!
