The SC BON should have listed on their site what they require---such as Ethics, Elder Care, specialty hours, that sort of thing, and if there are specific requirements for Pharm (which is unusual for RNs, but required for NPs). They should also have a definition of what they consider CE, such as advanced physical assessment vs. just pt assessment that was required to graduate. Look for CE's in your specialty area also, if you haven't been.
I just passed my nclex exam 2 weeks ago...=( I'm actually from the philippines. I graduated in 2010 that's why the SC BON is requiring me to submit a certificate of contact hours(30hrs)... I wonder if I can just choose any topic just to complete the 30 hours that they are requiring?
by the way I post9ed the criteria for continuing nursing edu contact hours.... I can't find the list of the specific courses =( and thankyou for replying.. I appreciate it so much!

I am confused.
If you just passed NCLEX two weeks ago, you will not, as an RN, have taken any CEUs in the past years (since you graduated).
In which state are you currently licensed?
I'm currently Licensed in Illinois... I also don't have any idea since I graduated in the philippines.by the way what is the difference of CEU and contact hours?... anyway,I told them my case and that's what they told me.. since I graduated 7 yrs ago and haven't work yet as a nurse here in the US they are requiring me to submit a certification of contact hours(30hrs) along with the other requirements... sorry for confusing you. =(
