Hello,

After 20 years in nursing, I have decided to pursue my BSN. I am considering 2 programs, one of which is . I understand courses are graded on a pass/fail basis. Has anyone had trouble getting into an non-WGU MSN program with a WGU BSN?

Thanks!

Hey, I just applied to for their RN to BSN and would like to pursue the MSN as well. Aiming for the August 1st start date.

We may be able to start together.

I am also considering a program through a local college. It is less expensive than and I know the credits will transfer anywhere. However, the local program would have annoying discussion boards and require a practicum in either leadership or community health.

But, if I decide to go with WGU, it would be great to know someone with the same start date. I live in Florida. PM me if you want to chat about WGU or other programs. :)

If you have access to a local university with an online program where the tuition is less expensive than , then I'd definitely do that. How long is the program? That is one benefit to WGU that most other programs don't have - the ability to accelerate.

I definitely agree. Many people have earned their BSN degrees through in less than six months. A highly motivated person can accelerate through the coursework and only pay $3,500+/- for the degree since it is being completed before the six month term renews.

I have been enrolled in the WGU RN-to-BSN degree program and am pleased with it so far.
