Connecticut State Community College Selective Admissions for 2025-2026

Published

Hello. I am looking to apply to the CT State Community College - Capital Nursing program for the 2025-2026 semester! I have completed the required pre-req's for admission, and completing additional core but not required courses (Ex. A&P II) when the Fall semester opens next week. I'm likely going to apply to more than one selective admissions program to be sure I follow the destiny meant for me.

I'm wondering what everyone's stats are as we all are getting ready to apply to the selective admissions program. Mine are...

A&PI : A

TEAS: 79.3%

Nursing GPA: 3.7

Happy studying, and selective admissions application time fellow students!! I hope this thread proves to be as productive as others have in years past 🙂

Hi everyone! I just read through the entire thread from last year and I am not sure if I feel better or worse about my application! My stats are:

TEAS- 82.7

A&P I- 4.0

Nursing GPA- 3.75

Overall ranking score: 92.5/100

I am applying to the nursing program at Capital. I attended the online info session in December and we were told that about 650 people applied last year and they accept the top 200 from the ranking scores. That's only about a 30% acceptance rate 😕. I asked about the average TEAS score for applicants and she said that they had people accepted with scores right around the minimum as long as they had a high nursing GPA. That made me feel a bit better about my TEAS score. My advisor made it sound like as long as I got an A in A&P I that my chances were really high in getting accepted but it seems so competitive. I'm currently taking A&P 2 and Microbio at Capital.

This is my second career and I have my Bachelors degree from 16 years ago. My background is in education but I have wanted to be a nurse for a long time. My kids are in school full time now so I'm hoping I can start nursing school this fall. I'm only applying to this school so I'm really nervous and will be so discouraged if I don't get in.

How is everyone else feeling?

Hyello

My stats are:

84% on TEAS

A in A&P I

3.29 Nursing Admission GPA

Overall my score should be an 87.125, and I'm applying to NVCC.

Looking back on last year, I couldn't find much information on NVCC applicants, but I'm hoping this is high enough to get accepted or at least get a high waitlist spot.  Anyone else have any idea of how good my chances are? 😅

Hi! I am applying as a new student so I can't say for sure but I saw this on the info packet  “• CT Community College students do not need to submit transcripts for
any prior credits earned at any CT Community College.”

thank you so much!! IDK why but I know I've had everything in order but as the date gets closer I get more anxious and start to overthink

Hi everyone!

My stats:

TEAS: 82.7

A&P I: A-

Nursing GPA: 3.62

Overall ranking score: ~93

I'm applying to Capital and after hearing that they accepted 200 out of around 650 applicants last year, I feel a little better knowing the acceptance rate is closer to 30% rather than what I originally thought (which was way lower). I also heard that people with lower TEAS scores got in as long as they had a strong GPA, which is definitely reassuring!

That being said, it still feels super competitive! I'm trying to stay positive though. Best of luck to everyone! ☺️

Hello, My name is Dylan

I am a UCONN graduate with a BA in Psych, I have worked/volunteered in healthcare since I am 14, volunteered at a hospital until I was 17, worked as a pharmacy tech for 6 years with walgreens, and am currently a behavioral crisis tech (patient care tech) in the emergency department at my current hospital, have been here about 2 and a half years. Decent medicine experience for a 25 year old young man Id say. I have wanted to be a nurse for a long time because I knew Id never have the brains to be a pediatrician or GP, and as I got older I fell in love with psych and wanting to help people. Have not been a strong test taker and have always struggled with big tests, Its sad that NVCC app isn't any form of holistically reviewing us because someone's grades and test scores shouldnt  be the sole factor. UCONN CEIN is holistic and looks at the whole picture so if I don't get in ill apply for the ABSN 1 year.

My stats

Nursing GPA: 3.09

A/P 1: B-

TEAS: 63.3%

I have a feeling I won't get in, im not trying to be negative I just feel my stuff is not strong enough. Hopefully NVCC waterbury will have a spot for me and all of us , we have a shortage of nurses and uconn is looking to expand so hopefully NVCC follows

Does anyone have any idea of how many people are applying to Gateway this year or any of the other schools?

I noticed mine did as well last week 🙂 now it's just sit back and wait! Did yours happen to say what your GPA is? Mine doesn't say, just says it's received.
