Connecticut State Community College (CT State) Fall 2024

Published

Hello everyone I have applied to the NVCC nursing program for the 2024 fall. Im wondering if my stats are any good or if I should be worried. Whats everyone' stats too if I may ask.

Nursing GPA 3.53

TEAS 92.7

A&P 1 A-

You should ask to see if they can double check! Don't feel annoying this is super important LOL I'd do the same.
Also how were you able to check your GPA on your application? Everything says received on my end and the only thing they're revealing to me is my TEAS score which I already know 🥲

It should say it under your GPA section- mine does

In the nursing info packet, it shows the number of grade points for all grades, including grades with a + or - (I.e. an A is a 4.0, an A- is a 3.7, a B+ is a 3.3, a B is a 3.0, and so on). The actual number of the final grade you got in a given class, and how that transferred into a letter grade would depend on the grading scale of the institution where you took the class because all that appears on the transcript is the letter grade.

Accelerated BSNs are a good option too, but I haven't seen any that would allow me to work much during the program, and an ADN is more affordable by a long shot, so those are the main reasons I'm going this route - plus, it's a major perk that I won't have to take Chemistry, or even other extraneous classes that some of these BSN programs are requiring these days - Genetics, Public Speaking, etc... I'm looking at you UConn, with your $100,000 BSN program hahaha

My advisor had originally told me I didn't need Chemistry but I recently found out it's a prerequisite for Microbiology. 🙁 I'll need to take it either this Summer or fall.

My application now says received for all items. The TEAS score was updated but there's no nursing GPA. I'm hoping that gets updated soon! 🤞🏼

Ahhh I actually already took Microbiology at a school that didn't require chem as a prereq so all I'll need to take during the actual program is the 9 credit nursing courses. Maybe you could look into this if you're going to have to take a class this Summer anyway--try finding a school that offers Microbio without a chem prereq required and transfer in Microbio to lighten your course load during the program. Good luck!

I applied as my backup school for capital. I was able to get into my primary choice in MA so I'll be going there.

Not sure if I'll get into Capital, but if I do, I'll decline so at least 1 wait-list spot will open. Not sure if I can withdraw my application or not.

If you go to the Review Application page, in the top right corner, there is an option to withdraw your application! I didn't apply to Capital but for those who did, withdrawing it before they rank everyone could at least free a spot for someone else to know they're in on April 10 instead of having to wait until May! I can also understand wanting to wait it out just to know if you would've gotten in though 🙂

Good morning everyone!

Happy April 1st!

Anyone else's application say completed with everything received but no nursing GPA calculated? I am applying to Capital and my last name starts with P. I kind of want to ask them what my calculated GPA is but at the same time I kind of don't want to know since I think its kind of low, around a 3.2.. My A&P 1 grade is a A- and my TEAS is a 82%, so I am crossing my fingers that those two grades push me in! From reading previous threads and seeing so many people on the waitlist get called I am feeling better.

Yes my application says complete but doesn't have a nursing GPA listed.  The "complete" is making me so anxious!

Same boat here; my application is complete, but there is no calculated GPA noted on it.

Glad to know im not the only one! I guess im just confused on why some people's applications say the GPA and some don't. I actually reached out to them this morning asking if they could tell me what my calculated nursing GPA was and all they said was that "they receieved it" LOL...

We have one more week until we find out! The suspense is literally making me crazy. Can anyone clarify if they are sending out the letters on the 10th or 15th? I have two different emails from the selective admissions and they gave me two dates 🤦🏼‍♀️
