Has anyone applied to the Concordia University Texas ABSN program? If so, please share your stats! When did you apply? Were you accepted, denied? Overall GPA, Nursing Science GPA? Did you ever have to retake a course that you didn't do so well on, early in your college career, and have it affect your admission to CTX ABSN?
Their website makes it seem like as long as you meet the minimum GPA/prerequisite requirements, and check all the other boxes- there is a spot for you. If you did poorly in a class before, it's okay- they will accept your most recent grade that you are happy with and only calculate that in your GPA. (Huge benefit to someone who messed up early on in college, but got put back on the right class and redeemed themselves after retaking a couple courses!)
Is it too good to be true? I know tuition is expensive, but I have GI Bill funding so that's not so much of a concern.
I'm just wondering if this school is as competitive as the rest, or maybe not as much due to the private university cost associated with attending there.
Also, if you went through this program- how was it?
Yes - I saw some reviews of the program on a forum and they seemed unhappy with clinical placements (said that they were unwelcome, the nurses were mean and did not want them there, not allowed in break rooms, kitchen, etc.and did not feel ready to start in the field even with passing the NCLEX) Hoping to hear about more experiences that are positive.
also the price of tuition - incredibly expensive and want to see if there are students in the program that feel it is worth the money (With the online courses do they feel like they are teaching themselves?)
I have never been on campus - I was wondering what the facilities are like as far as the lab sites, simulations, etc.?
For people who have been accepted, I would love to know your stats before entering this program! I have a lot of volunteering experience, I am a COVID-19 screener at a hospital now full-time, and I have an overall undergrad GPA of 3.19 (which isn’t great I know). I have a solid personal statement as well. What do y’all think would enhance my chances of getting accepted?
Hi!
I was wondering if anyone took any of their science pre-reqs through them online? (the 8 week classes). I have everything pretty much done but I need to retake one of them due to a low grade I got awhile ago and was wondering if it worth it to do it through them or try and go elsewhere? I like that its pretty fast but just was wondering if anyone had any experience with doing any of the science pre-reqs with them! ?
Thanks!!
