Concordia University, Irvine- Summer 2015

Published

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping to get into Concordia for Summer 2015! I'm beginning the application process and was hoping I can get advice from current students or how current applicants are prepping! I'm very worried about getting in as it is my first choice...:nailbiting:

I go to CSULB and am on my last semester with a 3.0 GPA, which is bare minimum. I'm interning at a hospital and reaching 240 hours by the end of November. I'm passionate about becoming a nurse, particularly in the area of pediatrics or neonatal nursing! Is there any way I can make myself a more competitive candidate? What would a good Statement of Intent look like? Any advice would be appreciated!

Current applicants: Let's get through this together!

Concordia students: Thank you for taking the time!

@angie21faith & jancali- Well I thought I was never gonna get a call back initially, but they called me a week ago on Wednesday! They make you do a deposit within 24 hours.

I just found this.. whoops!

Hi everyone!

Congratulations to those of you who got accepted! I am planning on applying to Concordia's ABSN program for the Summer 2016 cohort, and I have a few questions for you all:

1. Where did you take your Chemistry and Psychology Lifespan pre-requisite courses? Community College? Course title? Just want to make sure I register for a course that will transfer. I currently attend Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College.

2. Did you have any pre-reqs in progress at the time of your application?

3. Also, My GPA is 3.3, is that competitive enough?

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my questions and good luck to you all!

Hi nikkinixter,

I'm applying for the Fall 2015 ABSN program and I have my interview this friday!

I was wondering if you could tell me what the interview process was like, and if you remember any of the questions they asked you...

If anyone else who is in the program can answer too, I'd appreciate it! Thank you!

Jane

Hey Guys,

I have my interview for this Friday, and I was hoping to get some feedback and guidance about the questions asked as well as the essay prompt. Ive had two other interviews before at Western University but theirs is conducted a bit differently when it comes to the actual interviews. Some help would truly be appreciated!

Did anyone whose applying for the upcoming semesters, hear back from past students about the interview process? I know it is a group interview and expected to be about 4-5 hours, but can anyone be more specific about what to expect. Types of questions? Were the questions asked in previous interviews more critical thinking, situational, personal? I would love some feedback to make sure I am as prepared as possible. Also, any insight to the writing portion. Thank you for your time!
