Hello everyone

Now that the due date is less than a week, I wanted to start a fresh thread for those who are applying for summer 2012.

Let me introduce myself first..

As you can tell from my user name I am a husband and a daddy (two year old daughter and soon to be born baby boy). I did my undergrad at USC (biology) but worked in the restaurant business for 5 years. I always wanted to work in health related field so that's why I am applying to Concordia!

For application, I am done except for the statement of intent, hopefully I will be done by this weekend!

I would like to wish nothing but the best for everyone!!

I'm anxiously awaiting news too - so thought I'd wait it out with you guys!

I agree with you about the interview - I was in a really strong group and met some great people, but I felt I rambled too much and kicked myself about some of my answers!!

Oh it's going to be a long couple of weeks!!!

Thanks so much for sharing. I'm applying for the Fall. I've never done a group interview and I'm finding it quite interesting that they asked all those questions and pretty much went around the room for everyone's answers. Did you find that a lot of the answers were repeats?

Good luck to everyone that interviewed and hopefully I get invited for an interview! Just a few more weeks for you guys and the wait will be over. I was recently selected as an alternate and my wait will continue on 'til possibly up to the week before classes start! :-/

You are welcome, Melman: ) I was searching frantically for what to expect in terms of questions before the interview so I figured I would save others the anguish in the future. The truth is, I am not sure anything really prepares you for the group interview. I had never been a part of anything like it before and, if nothing else, I am grateful for the opportunity. I feel like I learned a lot. There were some repeats in answers but overall, people tried to bring their own experiences to the table when they could. I can see why they do it that way though. In all honesty, even as a participant I could see a couple of "stand outs" rising to the top in the group. It was pretty fascinating. It makes me interested to see who all gets in and to see if my impressions were similar to the admissions committee. My group exchanged contact info when we were done so that we can keep each other posted. I am really wishing the best for all of them. They were a great group.

I know it's not possible and I think the staff expressed the same thought, but it would be nice if they took all 80 err... Whatever the number is. I know it depends on a lot especially which clinical sites/ spots are available. It just seemed like our group clicked right away and I'm sure most if not all were the same.

It's interesting to see if there are any applicants that they really really liked but couldn't admit this summer, but would roll them over to the next semester, FALL. Have you guys heard anything about that? Do you guys know if they have alternates as well? I'm assuming they do...thanks for everyone's input!

Melman, I have not heard anything about rolling anyone over. I believe they just encourage you to re-apply. The staff stated 40 will be admitted and I think they said an additional 15 spots will be for the wait list. My guess, 3 to 5 people decide not to go for whatever reason from the 40. I'm pretty sure the wait list will be ranked.

My bet is we find out April 2nd give or take a couple days. Just a hunch.

Thank! I wanted to apply to csun, csusm, Mt.St Mary, Csuf, Azusa. I couldn't get all the pre-reqs done. There should be universal pre-reqs across the board not just: stat, AP1,2, Chem, Psych, micro. Also, I think with the drastic cuts to the cal state and UC systems I could see a jump in private school tuition trying to gain as much as they can while people are forced to private schools. I don't know why I jumped to those subjects. Trying to take my mind off of the obvious nervousness of getting into Concordia.
