Hi all! I applied to CTX's ABSN Fall 2020 program. I just heard back that my completion plan was approved by the Registrar! Anyone else applying? Also would love to hear from past cohorts!

Hello I'm also applying but not sure if I'll attend if I get in because of how expensive it is. According to my counselor, the estimated program cost is $70,399 for the 2020-2021 Academic Year. It's $16,140/semester.

Yea its super expensive, but in my opinion its worth it since I would be done by December 2021. I plan on getting loans and then coming back home for 2-3 years to save money and pay back the loans I get. After, I plan on doing travel nursing for about a year since the pay is good. Lastly, I am barely gonna turn 20 in July so ill be 21 when I graduate which is super young so having that much loans would be fine since I dont have to pay for anything yet and have no family to take care of, etc...

I'm 40 and doing the same plan. getting loans to get it paid, and searching for scholarships all the time. it is very good program, I asked people working in hospitals, nurses and previous students. it is a hefty loan but doable. read dave Ramsey book money make over and you will have clear pic.

Anyone applying for Jan 2021? I submitted an application the other day. I'm still waiting for the last of my transcripts to be received. Apparently they waived the TEAS requirement for the next couple of semesters due to covid, so I'm hoping that helps me out because I didn't score the best when I took the exam last year. How long do they take to get back to you? Also, is it possible to potentially travel back and forth for clinicals? I currently live in Houston and it's not realistic for me to move to Austin at this time. I'm hoping the clinicals are either online (due to covid), I can partner with hospitals here to complete them or it's feasible for me to travel there and back for them. I do have some friends who would allow me to stay with them during that time if I have to be there more than one day for clinicals.

For you guys that are attending the program right now: how are they doing the clinicals?

I am currently in the program and have a few people in my program who live in Houston. You will have to travel once a week to Austin for clinical and simulation lab a few times a semester. If moving is completely out of the picture, it definitely is possible!

Oh my gosh, thank you for that! It makes me feel so much better about applying. How are your friends doing in the program having to travel back and forth? Do they drive or travel by flight? What do you think of the program?
