Hi All,
I just sent off my application for Accelerated Nursing program at Concordia College for the fall of 2013. I'm really excited and nervous. I saw the thread for the fall 2012 was quite active and a few would-be 2013 students had posted to that one so I thought I should start a new one.
Anyway, I would LOVE to hear from any posters on the 2012 thread about how their experience has been going, anyone who is finished with the program, and anyone who is applying like me!
Thanks!!
@ Everyone on the waitlist:
A good friend of mine was wait listed at another ABSN program. The requirements are similar to Concordia for admission ( except a few more prereqs). The application process did not require a personal statement. Once she was waitlisted she sent on a personal statement reiterating her goals , etc. She was afterwards accepted and the admission officer said the letter made her seem like a better fit than some others on the list.
I do not know how the waitlist at Concordia works or if it is ranked or not ( how would they pick who off the list when the time comes?). However, for all those who have not sent in a personal statement maybe it would be nice for you to. I sent in a personal statement with my application. I am not saying that is a guarantee but it can never hurt.
Good luck guys.
@accelbsn- thank you so much for the advice. I sent in my personal statement as well but I messed up during the application process because I was supposed to have an interview at the beginning of march but the email was sent to my junk mail folder and it was deleted so I guess that had an impact on decision making since I got an interview back the the end of march. I still have my fingers crossed!
@hopefulapplicant... I sent my deposit to NYU but I was waiting to get a financial aid packet from concordia to see if they were going to offer me anything and after calling a few times they told me I should receive something in the mail and I still haven't .. So as of now I chose NYU unless concordia gives me significant financial aid. My deposit would be due may 6th so someone on the wait list should hear soon
any wait list people hear yet? I'm crossing my fingers for you guys. I know he said they were being mailed on may 1st, but I know that some peoples' decisions werent due until the 5th of May (thats when mine was due) and I'm guessing that some people received decision letters later than me. I was admitted on April 5th.
