Concorde in Jacksonville?

U.S.A. Florida

Published

I tried to do a search and there doesnt seem to be anyone that has gone to the nursing program at Concorde in Jacksonville. I was accepted into their Spetember class with the option of starting later this month if sopts become available. I know there are Concordes in other cities but Im sure that every city has different experiences. Any comments, good or bad, would be appreciated.

I am sorry to hear that. I hope you get the work source funds.

Hello all. I attend Concorde for their LPN program. Graduation is in 58 days. So any questions feel free to ask.

I'm thinking about going there for the RN. what do u think? do you recommend Concord for the RN program?

Well since I'm in the LPN program I'm not 1 to bash other programs. But I can give you reasons as to why I didn't go into the RN program. It's VERY expensive to not walk away with a BSN, not accredited yet (need 2 graduating classes), and its too much info to get crammed in, in I believe 15 or 18 months. But if you chose to go that route good luck and I will possibly see you on campus

Oh yeah for the young ladies who were talking about worksource and concorde, NO MA'AM. Concorde will not take it and worksource doesn't give money to private institutions. Unless things have changed since March of this year, then I wouldn't get my hopes up about getting money from them

So if Concord is not an accredited school yet, how is it possible for them to offer the assoc. degree for RN program? Would the degree be valid by the board? As far the cost, I have all my pre requi, except speech from FCCJ, I was told( by Kath from Concord) that those classes could be transferable and the cost of the program would go down to be around $17. I'm so unsure, I just don't want to be seating around waiting to get to FCCJ RN program. So when is the first 2 classes graduation date? I was thinking to try for the Sep. class. the RN program in FCCJ is about 18 months as well after the pre-requi.

thank you

Concorde is accredited. The RN program isn't. I know a class started sometime in November and the 2nd I belive was Feb. Not sure but once both of those classes finish then the program will be accredited. If you start in sept then you would fall in after the needed classes for accreditation. Ask Kathy when the 1st 2 classes start and add 18 months to each beginning date and you'll have a answer. Good luck! I know all about the confusion and frustration of trying to get into a RN program. That is the reason I'm in a LPN program. At least while I'm waiting to bridge over I can make some money instead of still waiting for people to say yes or no to my RN app.

Listen people. Don't go to Concord. Unlike other people I have figured these schools out (Sanford Brown, Keiser, & Concord) due to my bad experience. You do NOT want to go to these schools. Please hear me out and let me explain. I went to a school called Heritage Institute located here in Jacksonville close to Keiser actually. Anyway I had went there to become a radiology technician. Turns out I was NEVER going to become an RT. I was going to be an MA and it was going to cost me $23,000 to do so. I withdrawed along with my entire class once they found out about the scam. There was no way I was going to pay that much money to make $10 or less an hour. I could make more money bartending. anyhow all these schools work the same exact way and being really good friends with someone who worked in admissions helped me find out the truth. First of all these schools are "TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE" if you havnt noticed first they will tell you its a fast track and blah blah no it winds up being a long route. specially if they want you to do MA first and then do this and just keep beating around the bush. Then secondly they will tell you your going to get a degree. YOUR NOT! its not a real degree its just a spiked up certificate in fact i heard that most of these programs you would never be able to be an RN in a hospital just at like a local family practice or something because they are NOT accredited! I swear! at that your credits at concord, sanford, and keiser will NOT transfer to any other school. .. hmm i wonder why because they are not accredited. When i left heritage and went to fccj they lady told me the school was not accredited at all and fccj explained to me that the degree that they offer was not a real degree. also at these schools you will never be able to get you BS or masters. FCCJ had also explained that alot of students from these schools like this are learning the truth and leaving and coming to FCCJ. Also they are very expensive. my program was $23,000 and i left in less than 2 month and owe them $4,000 thats insane. i looked into the other schools to see how much their RN programs were and they were talking $40,000 at all of them. FCCJ cost a fraction of that. but atleast i left when i did. your best bet is going to a community college where they are accredited and get into their program. even though it is competitive and hard to get into keep trying. im going to FCCJ right now and just started my pre reqs i know i have a long way to go but im young and i know i can do it. goodluck everyone please put what i said into consideration before attending these non accredited scam schools. contact me for my information if you would like.

Isn't Cocncord an accredited school, I think that they are also approved by the state of Florida. I know a couple people that went to Concord for the LPN program and they work in a hospital and rehabilitation center

I have a link that will answer everyones questions about who is accredited and who isn't!

http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/nursing/lst_trainingprograms.pdf

This is directly from the FLORIDA BOARD OF NURSING! These people give you your License! In order to become fully acceredited a school must have atleast 2 graduating classes and 24 students pass the NCLEX. Even FCCJ had to do this before they became accredited. So these schools are not a scam I did my research. And as far as Heritage Inst. I don't know they don't offer a RN or a LPN program and that is what I have did EXTENSIVE research on. I am sorry to hear about your bad experiences. Good Luck @ FCCJ or should I say FSC

Hey, Thank you RN2BEE84

This helped me alot with my decision. I wasn't sure about Concord because the program still new and they did not have any graduation yet ,but this site list Concord as fully Creddited for their RN program so I think that I'll just take my chances and go there for my RN.

i am/was a student in the RN program at concorde in jacksonville...my advice is to run to another school!! the only test that you have to take is the net..i have all my pre-req's from fccj and they would only take a few and made me retake the others..i was told they needed to fill seats..basically get my money. i had financial and had to take out 2 loans to pay.. thursday of last week was my last day..along with 3 others. the pharmacology class was a joke and we learned nothing..the teacher was always having to correct our test because she had the wrong answers on the key..the points were never added to our grades...this happened on the final and led to 4 of us becoming restarts...another teacher later told me they needed to make room for the class ahead of us ( their 1st RN class in jax) students who failed out of the 3rd term. i am allowed to restart in dec after they kick people out of the 1st term that starts sept 2009... i highly recommend you go somewhere else..the director of nursing is rude and does not care if you have a problem..she basically laughed as she told we were let go and then rolled her eyes as we talked to the dean...the sales people (admissions reps) are very good at what they do and will tell you exactly what you want to hear so they can get your money..we are know haing problems stopping our loans and the school is still being paid, although one girl has been out almost a month...i will not be returning to concorde nor will the others..i am going back to fccj where i know what their program is about...my advice is to seriously wait until the 1st class graduates (march) before signing your financial life away!!
