I wouldn't sign anything holding me responsible for that laptop, esp considering the environments you are bringing it into.
I know that my own personal laptop has prevoked more curiosity in children and others than any other new toy. And that is just inside my own house. Its been banged, tipped over, dropped, and had stuff spilled upon. Thank God its a hardy brand.
I can't imagine bring one into a patients home. It would certainly be handy, but its gonna get broke.
Ditto here. Yes, we were asked to sign an agreement for damage. When it came down to it from what I understand, one nurse is on her second or third computer in 2 years. She has never had to pay to replace it. I notice she carries it around without a case (which was provided by the employer). I often wonder if it were me would my employer require me to pay to replace mine.

Greetings all. I hope some of you can reply to this post. I am an RN working in Home Health- Case management, and seeing about 6 pts. a day. We have just switched from paper forms to Laptops, which I love, but we are being asked by administration to sign a agreement to pay " up to $2100" in the event of damage or breakage to our laptops. Anyone else using laptops responsible for damage or destruction? I can see if the fault were mine how I could be held responsible, but as you know with Home Health you are in all kinds of home environments and who knows what can happen.....thanks
