Common medications given for pediatrics

I am in my last semester of nursing school and just beginning my senior practicum on a pediatric unit. I was wondering what some of the more common medications are given on pediatric floors.

Advil, PEG 3350, clobazam

albuterol, lactulose, methylphenidate

amoxicillin, ampicillin, captopril

Vitamin D, gentamicin, furosemide

ferrous sulfate, vancomycin, spironolactone

morphine, carbamazepine, chloral hydrate

cefazolin, valproic acid, lorazepam

can't remember the exact name, but it was a vitamin supplement that came with a dropper. A lot of kids got that when I was doing my peds rotation.

We add potassium to our fluids a lot (we carry D5 1/2 with 20 mcgs K on the floor)

Albuteral and racemic epinephrine and tylenol

Toradol, tylenol with codeine and morphine

Tylenol and Motrin LOTS! In our Peds we do lots of Solu-Medrol, Dexamethasone, Rocephin, other antibiotics, Tamiflu, as well as others..

This time of year our Respiratory department does lots of Albuterol, Racemic epi and Xopenex..

We go through ceftriaxone like water.

Most common meds on my floor are poly-vi-sol, iron, prednisolone, synagis, xopenex, albuterol, lasix, diuril, sodium chloride, potassium, tylenol, neonatal morphine, motrin, beclamethasone, valium, phenobarbital, ergocalciferol, nebulized saline/hypertonic saline, aldactone, sildenafil, digoxin, immunizations, ativan, baby aspirin, keppra, and bactrim. there are tons more, but these are the ones that come up often.
