I am 5 foot 7 and 280 lbs. I work 12-13 hours in a busy ER. By the time 4 o'clock rolls around I don't even want to stand anymore. Most, if not all of my pain is in the bottom of my heals. Right now I am wearing Rebocks. I would appreciate anyone in my similar size to be able to help me find a shoe that will get me through the whole shift pain free. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

S.A.S. tennis shoes! Worth every dime I paid for them. I even have a heel spur that I can tolerate now b/c of these shoes. Most stores give nurses 10% off. They run around $125. They are a bit on the ugly side but I dont care as long as my feet dont hurt!

Have you ever tried Dansko's? I bought a pair and I absolutely love them. I call them the miracle shoe. I am close to your size and 40 yrs old and used to hurt everywhere (hip, back, knees, and feet). I have had a history of lower back and hip problems and while working as a CNA I would practically crawl out of there everyday until I bought the Dansko's. My feet would hurt so bad, they would just throb for hours after I got home. Now I rarely hurt at the end of the day and have since quit that job due to school but I wear the Dansko's while I am in school and at my clinicals. My mother had back surgery and is 65 years old with bad knees and I turned her to them and she loves them. She wears them everyday and still thanks me for introducing them to her. I am actually going to buy a pair just for everyday use as well. Best $115.00 ever spent. :yeah:

Your heel pain may or may mot be plantar fascia related, try to stretch your calves throughout the day. Brooks makes a great shoe called the Addiction that has excellent support and good cushioning. They are also available in a non mesh, all white color scheme. If you have a specialty running store in your area they can help you make sure that you get the right shoe.

SAS gets my vote been wearing them for years....I'm 5'9/260 - I keep 2 pairs active...alternate daily...my feet feel like they are incased im marshmallows...have had DVT in 1 leg (years ago) and I can do 3 12s/ 4 10s or any combination ina a row...worth every penny (found my last pair on eBay for 35.00) I waer 11 wide
