  1. Thank You: we are trying to gather data to ask the BON to reconsider...so far, no luck from the manufacturer.
  2. Again, HCA does not force you to get vaccinated; simply dictates that you must wear a mask while working if you deline...this was for seasonal flu...I believe NYS Supreme Court has held that H1N1 cannot be forced on staff.
  3. I agree it is somewhat concerning; the problem is the use of a VAD for theraputic phlebotomy is "off label use of the device" and not approved by the manufacturers or INS...the nurse becomes totally liable for any problems. I am trying to find out if any other states have the same opinion. NH did not specifically address this until WE asked the question, trying to protect our RNs. Thank you for your imput.
  4. SAS gets my vote been wearing them for years....I'm 5'9/260 - I keep 2 pairs active...alternate daily...my feet feel like they are incased im marshmallows...have had DVT in 1 leg (years ago) and I can do 3 12s/ 4 10s or any combination ina a row...worth every penny (found my last pair on eBay for 35.00) I waer 11 wide
  5. Does anyone know if their BON allows an RN to perform a Theraputic Phlebotomy (for Hemochromatosis) throught a VAD? NH has ruled it is NOT within Scope of Practice; we are trying to gather info to have them reconsider.
  6. Does anyone know if their BON has ruled that Theraputic Phlebotomy via a VAD/Port is outside RN Scope of Practice?? NH has--
  7. HCA required all staff to get seasonal flu vaccine or wear a mask while on duty--H1N1 vaccine was encouraged but not mandatory.
