Columbus Technical College?

Published

Hello..

Does has anyone from this site attended or planning to attend columbus tech's adn program in columbus, ga?

I'm currently enrolled doing my pre-reqs and I plan on applying march 2011.

So anyone have any tips?

Advice?

Interview help?:)

Jessicaeileen... I got your message but I can't send you a return message for some reason. What is your e-mail?

Has anyone received a letter or email about interviews on April 11, 2011?

I have also applied for the ADN program this year. I received a call last week telling me that interviews would be held monday April 11,2011 and they also told me what time to be there. I am VERY nervous but I have been through the interview process before so atleast i know what to expect for the most part! I am just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best. I have taken all of the core classes outside and inside of th program so now all I need are my actual nursing classes. I have all A's and B's so I am hoping that will help also. Does anyone know how heavy your load will be if your already finished with all of them? Will I still have to go every day all day when I get in?? Thanks for all of your help and goodluck to everybody!

To KYoung11: how long have you been at columbus tech? I am mainly asking because of that fact that you mentioned that you have takened all the pre reqs and co-reqs and all you need now are the nursing classes.

I took all of my classes at West Ga Tech. I've been attending there since fall of 08. But I finished all of my classes last spring and now am just waiting to get into a program.

For those who have previously gotten into the adn program at ctc were any of yall able to work while in the program? And if so were you able to work part time or full time?

I personally had to just give up my job this semester. I was able to make it from July of 2010 until now. Although, I only worked 12 hours a week. We are taking our heaviest load yet.. Three classes.... and trust me, that is a lot worse than it sounds.

There are LPNs in this program that work three 12 hour shifts a week. It is definitely not recommended. I am very close to one of these girls. She is beginning to break down physically, and she is struggling. BUT she doesn't have any other choice. She HAS to work.

THEN... you have people that don't have a job and still struggle with the schoolwork. If at all possible, try to give 100% to your nursing education. It is very serious. You could kill someone very fast.

P.S> It can be fun too! Ex: I got to hold and swaddle a baby that was 4 hours old today!!!:bby:

Hi I was just checking in to get some information. I am planning on signing up for the ADN program in 03/12 I am just finishing up my last couple classes. I decided to take a break for the summer. 75% of my prereq transferred which I do have all B's in I am taking in the fall the English 1101 which only English 1102 xfer for me and I will also be taking BIO2114 also scheduled to take Hum1101 which only leaves the soc1101 and spch 1101 and the psy2103 which I heard you can test out of that class? ( Is that true?) I wanted to know if anyone heard that if you are in the nursing program which requires a lot of people to not be able to carry a job you can you can talk to someone in admissions and they refer you to someone in columbus tech that can set you up with getting a $100.00 a week from the ga dept of labor. I know it is not a lot but anything can help. I also wanted to know with some of the people that did get in the program what were some of your gpa's, test scores including compass and the Pre-NLN test. I will also take any advice as well as a motivator and fyi's. Thanks :nurse:

Normally if you take all prerequiste how long does it take to complete the adn program?

Sorry it's taken so long to get back with you all, we've had a busy quarter and I haven't had time to get on here. Life of a nursing student :)

nvrgivup - Yes, it is true that you can test out of PSY2103. I believe you can test out of most classes if you have the knowledge or know what to study. I'm not sure about the $100 deal, but maybe someone else on here knows about it. Try to stay focused during your remaining pre-reqs and do the best you can. Good luck!

ntorian - I'm not really sure how long it will take. Since they are switching over from quarters to semesters, they are changing the curriculum. The nursing program is a set time frame for the nursing course sequence, so it will be the same length whether you finish the pre-reqs before you start or not. You may be able to call the school and they can give you an idea of the length with the change to semesters.

any one got their letter yet. i thought we are to hear back a week after the quarter has ended???
