Columbus State University FNP Spring 2019

Looks like no thread started for CSU FNP's Spring 2019 semestar. Let's get one running. Anyone else signing up? I submitted my final paperwork today. Do you know if it is a rolling admission process, or they wait until the deadline to start reviewing applications?

Kate, are you doing the FT program or the PT? I wouldn't think that they would loose their accreditation.

I got accepted for PT. I did called them and asked about the different between PT and FT, they said there is not much different, it because of the PT faculty and some other reason. The director of the program will email us and explain it.

Thank you. I still have not heard of anyone in this forum who has heard back for the FT program. I started thinking about it and I don't remember where we even put on the application if we were wanting FT or PT do you? I am sure somewhere down the line I told them I wanted the FT program, but now I can't remember.

There was nothing on the form to indicate for PT or FT if I remember it correctly. Don't quote me, but when I called they mention something about all the acceptance for Spring 2019 is PT. The last day to accept or reject is November 15 for me.

That happened to me when I was accepted a couple years ago. I wanted part time but was automatically assigned full time. I do not remember it being asked on the application and it was a hassle to get switched to the part time program. I don't know if the app has changed since then though.

That makes sense that it is part time if you start in the spring 2019 as you may be just lightening your load of non clinical classes but still graduate with the same class that starts full time in the fall 2019.

Does anyone know how much is castlebranch and typhon online portal cost that they asked us to buy. And the personal too. Thanks

They emailed me a few weeks ago an estimated price for the whole program, and on there the typhoon software was $80, the certified backgrounds (I guess this is the castlebranch you're asking about) is $125, and the personal says approximately $387.

"Students beginning in the spring semester are considered part-time. Currently, we only offer full-time admission in the fall semester. However, our "early admit" spring students graduate at the same time as our full-time fall admits. The students who are admitted early in the spring take the majority of the didactic courses prior to beginning clinicals, while the fall full-time students work the didactic courses in alongside clinicals."

There is no FT or PT on the application, it just depends on what time of year you are signing up. If you sign up by the Oct 15th deadline, then you start in following spring and will be PT. If you sign up by the Feb 15th deadline, you will start in Fall and you will be FT. They both graduate at the same time. So those that are getting acceptance letters are all in the same boat as us, there is no PT/FT difference at this time. I am still waiting for a response :/

Zachem24: thank you and good luck.

CastleBranch was $155 for me. May I ask what the total estimate was that they gave you?

Also, thank you for your information on FT vs. PT status! I wouldn't give up hope to those that have yet to receive any notices.

Yes all three cost money. I cant remember how much but something like between 100-200 for castlebranch and typhon each--they are a one time fee and you will use both the entire program. The is pricey and is to be paid every year you have clinical. Wait on insurance part until your clinicals actually start so don't buy that any earlier than you have to. I think mine is about $200 a year and I get the cheapest I can find. I used Proliability but didn't research it so am not giving it a recommendation.
