Columbus State University FNP Spring 2019
I am not sure if this is possible, but I would be interested in transitioning from summer clinical to FT as well!

CastleBranch was $155 for me. May I ask what the total estimate was that they gave you? Also, thank you for your information on FT vs. PT status! I wouldn't give up hope to those that have yet to receive any notices.

Columbus State University FNP Spring 2019
I will be PT while residing in Kansas! I also e-mailed back about the Summer 2019 clinical start and was told they are still working on the schema for it. Did anyone else think the predicted graduation years were off from the e-mail? I imagine starting Spring 2019 should end closer to Spring 2021 (even if starting clinical in the fall).

Columbus State University FNP Spring 2019
Hello, everyone! I applied to this program for their Spring 2019 start as well and just recently received my acceptance letter. I would like to keep in touch with others joining this class! :)

Hi! I have a question for JayhawkNurse7 and/or jayhawkRN754. I plan on buying at least two sets of scrubs, but how many days a week are clinicals each semester? I'd like to get an idea of how often I'll need to be doing laundry. Also, have either of you found the undershirt necessary/used often? Thirdly, will any N4's be selling their white coats from the previous ceremony? Thanks!!

KU School of Nursing - Any Advice on Applying?
I have accepted my seat at KU!! I am so excited and also nervous. Do you recommend any nursing-related books to read over the summer to feel slightly less overwhelmed at the start of the semester? I know I asked a million questions in response to your post in my forum, but I also have a few short questions: stethoscope recommendation? For clinicals, do the shoes need to be all white? Would a digital watch (Fitbit) be okay? I know I'm looking a bit ahead here- just want to be prepared. :) Thank you so much!!

Hello, it has been a few days since you posted this, so I assume you have received your letter by now. I was accepted into their program for fall 2016 on the 29th of February. The deadline for submitting the $200 deposit and acceptance form is tomorrow the 11th. Hopefully, you have good news!

Saint Luke's vs. KUMC (KU's Medical Center) BSN Programs
Firstly, I'd just like to thank you so much for taking the time to write both of your posts! I love that you mentioned you feel the student body is cared about! I am curious about a few additional things if you don't mind. How large are your individual classes/lectures (student to teacher ratio)? Do you feel that KU's nursing school program is primarily difficult because the material itself is difficult or because there is such a large quantity of it (or a mixture of both)? Did you prepare yourself in any way before entering the program (read textbooks beforehand, etc) or feel that it would have benefited you? How about the rooming situation - any good apartment complexes near the hospital, finding other nursing students to room with, etc? Did you have a favorite clinical site that you chose? The amount of online material/classwork? Do you feel that KU has done an excellent job preparing you for entry-level nursing and not just for "climbing the ladder"? Does the grading scale change in nursing school (80% still = B, 90% = A, etc)? Any merit-based scholarships available? For your capstone, is it largely research paper-based or real-world preceptor-based, or both? Are most of the books you need to purchase available online (read: slightly less costly)? Any specific advice you would give prior to or during nursing school? Also, last but not least, do you feel that your courses are 100% attainable given the study hours are put in? I am nervous about beginning nursing school but am trying to trust that if the proper time is put into it, that I too can succeed (I am initially nervous about what I've heard about pharmacology in particular). Again, thank you so much for any help you can give about these million questions! It is so nice hearing from a nursing student at KU.
