Columbia University MDE 2017

Published

Hi everyone!

First of all, I would like to congratulate everyone who has been accepted into the next starting cohort for this program! :D

I am starting this super early because I have already begun to freak out lol.

Is anyone applying for the MDE MDE/DNP or MDE/PHD program for 2017?

This is my dream program !!

I am prepping for the GRE at this point which I am taking in August. It has been a long arduous road for me to say the least and I am ready to send my app off with a prayer. Any advice from current/previous students of this program or applicants welcome! And to my fellow applicants what other programs are you applying to? And most importantly good luck to everyone. The application opens August of 2016 :D

Ha! That's a doozy.I'll be commuting from the UES, so still a hike since there's not a direct path. Though I think the Q is helping SUBSTANTIALLY since I actually have a bit of a link to the west side train lines now. phew. I think it will be about an hour.

My ultimate goal is to wiggle my way on to the NYP shuttle bus, though, since I live next to Cornell NYP. I have heard it could be a possibility but I also fear getting kicked off if VIP doctors show up and there aren't enough seats. ANYWAY, it's an adventure to be explored.

If all else fails...maybe I will keep my marathon spot and my training shall be running to Columbia from Cornell :)

Bushwick....does that mean the L shutdown will ruin your life?? (i dont understand brooklyn geography yet)

Doozy indeed and the L closure will certainly make life a challenge. Luckily I have the M by me also but that's going to be a mess of a trip. I'm almost seriously contemplating biking - if only the terrain were flatter going uptown. Maybe I'll invest in a scooter 😂

I am! I'm in Washington Heights. I feel ya on the commute...I've been commuting to Brooklyn for the last month and it's killer.

Commuting to Brooklyn from the North Pole..but..GoT isn't on yet so there aren't any sick viewing parties in Brooklyn yet 😜

I'm not coming from California but i got in for MDE/DNP Psych!!!!

i'm coming all the way from Haiti but my home state is FL.

Still need to figure out moving/housing situation.

I am in the same boat! I'm not sure either, but please let us know if you find anything. I'll make sure to do the same. Thanks and good luck!

Hi all! Congratulations to everyone accepted and I wish patience and send good vibes to those who are waitlisted or waiting to hear from other programs.

I got accepted to the MDE/DNP in Midwifery, and am still waiting to hear back from a few other programs, but am feeling so lucky and excited to have this incredible opportunity!

I've added you..

Hi! I've also been accepted to the MDE Program! Also a Californian- I requested to be added to the fb group. My email is [email protected]

I am currently looking in to on-campus graduate housing, at least for the first year. I would be moving from Portland and I think it would be too much to try and figure out housing so far away on top of everything else.

There are quite a few options for students plus they give a high priority to students the farther west they are traveling from, so that's good for us I suppose!

Hi Larakg I'm so glad to see another marathon runner on here! I ran the marathon last year, and had to take a microbiology midterm the very next day. That wasn't fun. But at least you'll get Marathon Monday off - it looks like we won't have class on 11/7 :) 217-218 Academic Calendar | School of Nursing

I don't know about all of you, but I'm still very much on cloud nine. I keep signing on to the admissions portal to look at the confetti coming down the page :) I can't wait to meet you all at Visiting Day!

Hey! just saw this! Thanks for checking that on the calendar...good call.... I can't claim to be a marathoner yet, just a halfie :)

And yes. I signed in this morning to look at confetti.

oh thanks! but For some reason i still don't have access to it..

Hi Everyone! congratulations to all those accepted!

I also received an acceptance and I am very excited. But still have a lot to think about in terms or commute and finances.

Does anyone have an idea of what the class schedule will be like? 5 days? 7 days?
