Hi everyone!
First of all, I would like to congratulate everyone who has been accepted into the next starting cohort for this program!
I am starting this super early because I have already begun to freak out lol.
Is anyone applying for the MDE MDE/DNP or MDE/PHD program for 2017?
This is my dream program !!
I am prepping for the GRE at this point which I am taking in August. It has been a long arduous road for me to say the least and I am ready to send my app off with a prayer. Any advice from current/previous students of this program or applicants welcome! And to my fellow applicants what other programs are you applying to? And most importantly good luck to everyone. The application opens August of 2016

Hello everyone,
I applied to the MDE program in Columbia University school of nursing in October 2016 for the entry of 2017. I just received an admission decision today that I was placed on the wait list. Is anyone familiar with their wait list? How does it work? Is there a ranking on the wait list? What is the possibility of getting in form the wait list? How can I improve my possibility of getting in? Any ideas would be very appreciated.
Some background about myself: I was educated in China, I have a bacholar degree from a Chinese medical school and I have a master's degree in medical translation and interpretation from Xian Jiaotong University. My TOEFL is 104, which is above the average 100. I took 3 of my pre-requists from Ohio University and BMCC, GPA: 4.0. I am still taking another 4 courses: A&P2, Microbiology, Nutrition and English Composition from BMCC in this spring semester. I have been working as a freelance medical translator for over 4 years. I did some volunteer work at the ER at O'Bleness hospital. Also my husband is American and I live in NYC now. I tried to find some volunteer work in hospitals in NYC, but they all require me to have SSN. I am still in the process of getting my green card, which takes almost a year. I don't know how to speed that up either.
Any sharing would be very appreciated.
Thank you very much.

Hello Everyone!
I was put onto the waitlist. I'm sooooooo stressed out about it right now. Why? Not because I have no finalized decision, but because I live all the way in Alaska and, if I have to wait until May 1 to hear anything, I won't have time to quit my job managing the warehouse at the Food Bank of Alaska, sell my car, put my things into storage, and move 5,000 miles away. I've never had such a giant lump in my stomach as I have right now. Haha.

Directly from the website "The new curriculum will enable students to move from our master's program directly into one of our two doctoral programs, the clinical doctorate of nursing practice (DNP) or the doctorate in nursing research (PhD). Those choosing the DNP track can select from six advanced practice nursing specialties. Those selecting the PhD track will be mentored by a senior researcher working in the same field of interest."
So I'd imagine pretty much no chance of denial
