Columbia University-ETP

Published

Hey everyone. I was just wondering who applied to Columbia University's ETP program.

I got an email today telling me to keep logging into the website where I applied to check on the status of my application. Has anyone else got this email? And does anyone know approximately when they begin to post decisions?

I'm nervous as this was my #2 school.

Now that i'm in may i post how scared of NYC I am!! I'm a little ol' Vermonter, and I've never been there except once to transfer trains in Penn Station! UGH! I'll be lucky if I survive the first week. :p

lol same thoughts went through my head about being unaccepted!!???

As of now I'm accepted for the psych specialty!

WOOHOO!! I'm in for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialty!!! I wasn't expecting the "updated" decision to be posted until tomorrow, so getting that email a few minutes ago was a WONDERFUL surprise!!

One question re: financial aid -- weren't our aid offers supposed to come along with the offer of admission? I received a letter from Oscar Vasquez along with my acceptance containing instructions on how to be considered for aid. However, I submitted my FAFSA prior to the Feb. 1 deadline. Anyone else get/not get a financial aid offer along with their acceptance?

I got the same letter..... so maybe they didn't get them out in time??

I'm in for Adult NP! But I didn't get any financial aid info with it.

Woo! In for NNP!!! :D! Soooo Excited! I dodn't receive the financial aid e.mail though ...

OMG I'm in for FNP! I can't believe I was actually accepted...I'm so scared!

I'm a California girl so this would be a HUGE move and adjustment for me. This is going to be a big decision...I'm always afraid of that feeling that "hindsight is 20/20." I just don't want to move all the way over there and hate NY! What do I do!?

Congratulations to those of you that have been accepted. I am afraid they may have sent out acceptances before the rejection notices. I am worried.

Wow that is a big leap! You should go to the visiting day - because that is 10 days before the acceptance letters are due, so it would give you a chance to check it out a little at least. I've never been there, so I am planning on going, but looking forward to the visiting day just to make sure!!

Zoogirl, I'm from Boston so I kinda know how you feel (i've grown up hating everything NYC)...you should go to the visiting day on march 6th and check it out. I have the same hesitations moving to a new city with no family or friends close by. Good thing is there's a lot of time to decide!

Thank you guys for your encouragement! I was able to visit NYC with my boyfriend in October when he went to NYU for his dental school interview--I definitely know that it would be a big adjustment for me. I'd love to attend the info day...we'll see if finances allow me to do so. Somehow I don't think I'm going to be able to afford the airfare and expensive New York hotels :uhoh3:

Does anyone know by what date we need to RSVP to the information day?

Yay congratulations all around! I was getting scared b/c they came out with that stat that they received 50% more applications this year. So I got in for FNP which I am very very excited about!!! I am from New York but I do think I will still need to adjust since the medical center campus can definitely. My ex-boyfriend was a med student at Columbia so I've been in the neighborhood enough to know that I don't like being there by myself at night... still, it's a terrific school so I think you can't let other things get you down too much.

YAY Congrats everyone!!
