Updated:   Published

Hi there,

I  creating this thread to connect with other applicants applying to Columbia's BS-DNP FNP program that starts in June. I submitted my application February 10 and I am waiting to hear back! Very excited =).

Out of utter desperation I just emailed Jose Villa (Director of Admissions at Columbia). I don’t think I will get a firm answer but I am hoping he can give some timeline.

Honestly I wouldn't keep bothering them. It's out of our control

You are right. Whatever they had to decide is done and it is a matter of time until we find out.

Specializes in BSN, RN.

Waiting for this decision is definitely one of the most nerve-wracking things I've experienced. Since there's such a short turnaround time, I've been weighing finances as if I already got in, which may definitely take its toll on decision day! At least we're all already bound together through this struggle...

I am afraid to plan anything as I feel I might jinx it LOL… I am ready to Take on finances challenge as long as I get in because I feel in long run it will pay off ??

Also has anyone heard from Hopkins LOL

Not yet! I was just browsing the forums. Seems like those who applied to early decision received news but those of us who applied after that are still waiting (that is what I have gathered). I'll post on here too if I get word from Hopkins as other threads seem a bit dead LOL!

I never applied to Hopkins now in hindsight I am thinking maybe I should have LOL…. Early decisions were in feb I thought it’s mid March. Other threads are dead because they all know now and we are still waiting.

I applied to FNP at Hopkins, NYU, and Columbia. I feel like some specialties hear before others/at different times so its difficult to pin point. Half the time I am getting my decision timelines mixed up between the the three schools LOL.

I am now working on my applications for Duke and George Washington Univ., those are due May 1, but FNP for those too!

Specializes in BSN, RN.

I don't know if this helps, but I received my Hopkins FNP decision (ED) 3 weeks after interviewing (in an email). Hopefully this is the week y'all find out too!

I am contemplating Duke as well but I truly don’t have the energy as I work two jobs and have three kids to support. I did apply to Rutgers DNP program not In the same league but close to home.
