I went through he Excelsior College of Nursing and graduated a yr ago. I am at a dead end with trying to get my clinicals here. Hospitals, SNF's, Clinics, and a variety of Rehabs (all probably owned by the same three or four entities) claim they can't allow this because their legal department requires a contract with a local school. It's been a miserable experience. Anyone out there have a contact here in Colorado that would allow me to obtain my clinicals at their facility? I'm an IV Certified LPN here in Colorado with 5 + yrs of experience. In addition to my Nursing, I am also a Licensed Acupuncturist. I've ran my own clinic since 2010 part time. I know some may feel this is not worth mentioning, but I believe it provides an additional clinical competency for patient/client care.

Specializes in LTC, Agency, HHC.

Have you called the BON for advice? What about HHC companies?

I'm confused - if you've graduated, why do you need to do more clinicals?

Specializes in ICU + Infection Prevention.

The local programs are having problems placing their students. No surprise that you as an individual fared worse. You might be too late. Colorado BON requires concurrent class and clinical for eligible programs AFAIK.
