Colorado Childrens Hospital New grad Summer 2022

Published

Hi, I am interested in seeing if anyone who applied for Colorado Children's hospital's new grad program has heard back from them? I applied to both campuses and it looks like the application period ends February 9th with interviews between February 14th-18th. (start date of May). I did receive the email right away that they were sending my applications the the recruiters but there has been no update since.

The other thread for the previous cohort contained a lot of rejections even though a few of them had amazing pediatric experience so now I'm a bit nervous lmao.

For Anschutz I requested OR, ER, and NICU
For Colorado Springs I requested NICU, Med surg, and PICU

GL to whoever applied!

Hi everyone! wondering if anyone else is starting in the May cohort at Anschutz? I was offered a position in the NICU and was seeing if there was anyone else! Good luck to everyone applying for the August cohort!

Hi! Would you mind letting us know if the interview was mostly behavioral questions, and like why CHCO, and tell me about yourself stuff? Was there anything else or any other tips you have?  Also, is there a second interview?

Thank you for whatever input you have!!

HI! Interview was mostly talking about why I want to work with kids (specifically in the NICU for mine), and then goes on to judge your overall workplace etiquette - ie: how you dealt with a tough situation, how you manage staff, how you communicate (questions about this type of stuff). And then a clinical scenario! I didn't have a second interview - I actually found out the next day I was offered a job even before interviews were completed! Some units are faster than others I think! Best advice is really show your passion and why you want this job so bad. I think people who can demonstrate their passion prove they will work hard and be a great employee!

I ended up hearing back from Children's today! For the August cohort, for the pediatric mental health institute. I'm interviewing on Friday. Thanks to everyone who's left tips/insights so far.

Good luck! I had my interview Monday, fingers crossed!

Hi, just wondering if anyone else who interviewed this week for the August cohort has heard back yet? Good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone! I am interested in applying to a future cohort. Can anyone speak to pay for new grad nurses in this program IF and only IF they feel comfortable. The cost of living in CO is relatively high so I wanted to see what pay they offer.  I cannot locate a job description to see the pay either. Thanks and best of luck to all of you, I hope you all get good news ?

The hourly pay is $30.10, for first 12wks of orientation, then you become a  CNI (after 12wk orientation) and get $32.09/ hour for the rest of the year until you become a CNII and it goes up a bit more, but not sure how much more.

There were also differentials for night, weekends, and holidays but I don't remember what those were exactly

Hi! I was wondering if you had previous pediatric or nicu experience before applying?
