Hello

I was just wondering who else is applying for the Spring 2010 semester at Collin County in McKinney! Do you guys know what the minimum amount of points people had for the last term? What are your stats? (if you don't mind sharing!)

I'm applying with either a 10 or 11 (not really sure how they're going to do my overall GPA because of all of the places I have attended).

i haven't login, since the day i have posted, but i have surfed in and out of here from time to time.

rha_hea: i am trying to answer your message back, but i can't find a way to IM you on here. anywhooo.. i did receive a letter, and it said that i lacked points. however, i did apply to grayson for the spring and will be starting there in january.

Just for reference for future applicants I am going to post my stats. I was waitlisted (for Spring 2010 start) when the initial letters came out. I got a call offering me a spot two days after those who recieved letters of acceptance were supposed to tell the school if they were going to attend or not. I had 14 points, 6 of them were from the PSB, I also had all pre-reqs/co-reqs completed.

was this your first time to apply at collin?

Yes is was my first time applying. However, I got into Texas Woman's University's nursing program; so I decided to go there instead.

Congrats on getting into Grayson!

Rha_Hea,

Congratulations!! I was in the process of applying there for Spring 2010, but when I went there to get advised they wanted me to repeat classes, so I decided to take that off my list.

I am sure you will enjoy TWU!!! :)

yea? do give me pointers :-) please.

when did you start?

im finishing up my first semester finals are in 2weeks!! Honestly all the instructors are great they will help you with anything if you just go to them. They however do not let you choose your clinical site til second semester but they will let you switch with a classmate if they are willing and they try to put you at the hospital closer to where you live. I had McKinney with ******* she was awesome I'm going to miss her!

ah yea. so what ended up happening for clinicals for you? i don't think i can last driving far from frisco to those sites, but if i had to guess i would. where did you do your clinicals?

Frisco to McKinney isn't a bad drive what will suck is the drive to lecture when you have to be there at 8am...and second semester you can choose your clinical site and Plano would be a good option. my clinical experience was really good lol with lots of pee and poop of course. When class first starts you will be in lecture Monday Wednesday Thursday and Friday so you stay up on your studying its alot of info on each test it slows down a bit when clinical starts hope you enjoy your first semester.

I got into the program w/ 14 pts and a 4.0 ... for Fall 2008.

Be prepared to be very organized and implement good study habits. The theory courses are very different than the knowledge based pre-req courses.

Have fun and good luck. Its a marathon and not a sprint.

WOW. tHIS MUST BE HARD TO GET IN THIS SCHOOL. I AM THINKING OF APPLYING THERE, BUT I AM NOT SURE IF THEY ARE LOOKING AT THE OVERALL GPA OR JUST THE PREREQU?

They look at both. It's a points system.
