Hello! I know I am super early, but just trying to be proactive. I am planning on applying to the Fall 2021 ADN program at Collin. I currently have a B in A and P 1 and 2 and will be finishing Micro in the Spring semester. Does anyone know someone who has gotten in with B's in the science pre-reqs and a higher TEAS score? I'm taking the TEAS in 2 weeks and if I need to plan to take it again before submitting my final application in May. Any insight would be helpful ?

Prerequisites Complete: 1 pointA(5) B(4) (they didn’t include micro in their admissions)
TEAS: 7.8
= 17.8
Looks right to me too. I calculated mine over and over and over again. I took the TEAS twice just in case. The first time an 82, second time 93. I knew the test had a huge weight as far as the score, so wanted to make sure I had the highest possible points I could get. I would definitely suggest taking it again for the next round to get your points higher. If you could get in the mid-high 80s, you’d have a much better chance of getting in.
The TEAS helps them determine where students are academically overall in critical subjects important to nursing. While yes, A&P are super important, the TEAS shows overall comprehension of multiple subjects.

I got the Immunity Panel and TB test.
THANK YOU!!
OK, looked at the Collin bookstore. The nursing scrubs are white. Yay.... the worst color for scrubs LOL. Why not the pretty blues nurses wear?? ugh
Also, I checked out that lab testing discount and it's worth it for the immunity panel but a TB test is way cheaper at CVS minute clinic!! like $30 instead of $100+ it was charging on that website.
Congrats y’all :)) Im selling everything I have and if anyone is interested. I have 2 skills bags (one used and one brand new never opened), 3 pairs of school scrubs (2 used and one never opened) Men's Size XL, 2 lab coats, all my books which are in great condition (some of them never used haha), a blood pressure cuff that I bought to practice but never used from first semester, a Saunders's NCLEX review book, ATI book bundle, Lippincott Pocket Drug Guide, Cherokee Scrubs (one in black the other in turquoise) Men's Size XL for lab, and a great quality stethoscope. Lmk!!

I'd definitely be interested in buying some of that from you, once they send out some more info on what we need. Probably the books (if they're still using the same edition) and the skills book.
Also, for those wondering costs, I did a little loose researching to get these numbers:
In county costs of tuition for 9 credit hrs (pre-reqs complete, otherwise you'll be at 12 credit hrs) per semester: $513, or $2056 total tuition for the program.
Books: around $1500
Skills packet: $200-500
Liability Insurance: usually less than $100 annually
Drug test: $200
Immunity and vaccinations: $300
FBI fingerprints, background test: $90
Physical exams: out of pocket, around $200 per exam.
TX state licensing: $186
TX NCLEX-RN: $200
CPR certificate: $40
Uniform, backpack, etc: around $250
ATI Fees: some say $800 per semester??? unsure if true.
Online learning resources: ??
Hope this helps break down the total cost over the two years!
