College of the Sequoias (COS) Spring 2022 application

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those applying to College of the Sequoias this Spring. I'm applying with 75 points. Post your points and how many years you've been applying to nursing school. This is my first year.

I just found out I'm pregnant and will be due in March. Does anyone know their policy on pregnancy as a way to defer to another admission year?

Hello!

This is my first year applying to Nursing Schools, this will be my 4th and last application of the year. All other programs have been very competitive. I am applying with 74.5 points. COS has been the only school so far that doesn't do appeals for repeat BIO classes, so I had deduct 3 points. I will have to reapply for Nursing Schools again next month, because won't know if I will have gotten accepted to COS until October.

What are your stats? Where else have you been applying?

I applied to Hartnell, SJVC and Cuesta College. My BIO GPA is 3.45/Job Experience/Second Language/A.S. Pre Nursing. I got a 78% on my TEAS Test, which I am hoping to do well on next time if I have to reapply. I have started to study again. I'm bummed that the TEAS test takes up such a large amount of points. I already feel burnout on sleepless nights of studying to pass my pre-reqs.

Nice you have work experience! I was trying to get my CNA and was enrolled but sadly we were all dismissed due to the facilities issues with lisencing.

You have more points than I do because of work experience and COS heavily weighs work experience. I only have 65.9 points because I don’t speak another language, have no relevant work experience/certifications or volunteer hours. I have a 3.64 science GPA.

Have an 84% on TEAS, A in Micro, A in A&P1 and B in A&P 2, no point deductions, but probably not enough to get in. Do not care to get a healthcare certification or what not if I don’t have to.

According to what they told me when I talked to them on the phone, you have a good chance of getting in.

I’ve applied to FCC twice and Fresno State, haven’t gotten in. I’m now looking in Tennessee where my folks live and they do it way differently. I have a good shot at all the Tennessee schools, it’s more expensive, but at least it’s something.

Does anyone know what the class schedule and clinical schedule is like?

Greetings fellow nursing hopefuls, this is my second time applying to COS, I will be applying with a 71 points, praying for a miracle!

I'll be giving away my spot to someone on the alternates list IF I get in since I'm pregnant and won't be able to part from the kid until he/she is 3 yrs old. I applied with 75 pts.
