College of the Sequoias (COS) Spring 2022 application

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those applying to College of the Sequoias this Spring. I'm applying with 75 points. Post your points and how many years you've been applying to nursing school. This is my first year.

CoS and this school I applied to in Tennessee release results around the same time. I’m so nervous waiting for October.

What day was that?

Anyone else anxiously checking the mailbox multiple times a day? ?

Same! I called COS yesterday & they didn’t give me any info. They haven’t sent anything out yet. I imagine on Thursday or Friday we should all receive something. I’m nervous & anxious ?

They said they haven't mailed them yet?

She didn’t say so.. but her response was that “they weren’t done reviewing them” so I’m assuming so. I call the office often & they probably recognize my number by now. As much as nurses are needed I wish everyone could get the opportunity to get into these programs. This wait is making me sick ? LOL

Didn't you apply with 85 points? You will 100% get in.

I applied w 83.5 BUT she did tell me that they had wayyy more applicants this year. I don’t wanna get myself excited because you never know what may happen..

Last semester, the lowest score was 72. I'm applying with 79. I feel like every year the scores get higher and higher.

I feel that way too.. I asked the lady Tina who works in there what the highest score was during the last application period & she said it was a 92. I think this time around between a 74 & up are good odds..

A 92?! I feel like someone with that kind of score probably doesn't take their spot because they probably got accepted to tons of schools, including Fresno State.

Someone here said CoS is October 5th and the school in Tennessee said the first 2 weeks of October. I’m coming to Fresno to pick up my car and drive it to Tennessee mid October, hope is to know by then.

I have like no opportunity most places mostly due to stubbornness of not wanting to go to school for CNA or LVN because I have a stable job, and they don’t let you retake C’s, pretty stuck with my grades and I did well on TEAS and sciences. Pretty much my hope is FCC picks me from the lotto or the less-competitiveness of Tennessee slips me in somewhere. It’s pretty stupid with the shortages (granted due to pretty mundane reasons it’s gotten worse, not sure if we can discuss the vaccine on these forums), but I know there’s been a shortage of professors longer than a shortage of nurses and they can only take as many students as staff can handle. It’s why every science professor recommended for me to become a professor after nursing school.
