Hello,
I was wondering if anyone here has recently done this program or thinking about attending. It is a 15 month program at the College of Mount St Joseph in Cincinnati. I applied and was set to go awhile back, but did not go for many reasons. Here again I am interested. If anyone else is thinking about MSJ or at MSJ, let's talk.
Hi! Thank you! I'd like to know how rigorous the program is. I know that it is extremely intense and I would like to know how I should study during the program to make sure I don't fail out. I am worried about it. I also would like to know what I can do between now and when I start to prepare for the program? I am taking pathophysiology and pharmacology next year but if there is anything else i can do? If you have any old books that you guys use I could buy them! Let me know. I really appreciate the response!
I don't understand you are taking Pharm next year? The books you buy the fist semester you use every semester. I sold most the second semester, because I rarely used them. My advice would be don't read everything they say to in the syllabus it's overwhelming. I quit after the second week, I would only study the power-point's they provide and take notes in class, maybe even record the lecture. I don't think you need need to know anything from patho to be succesful. I would buy a good printer if you don't want to print everything out at school they give you 30 dollar credit it goes fast. Looks like you will have the same teachers I had the first semester except 1 and your lucky. Some people say the first semester is the hardest, but I though it was the easiest. Study hard for the second pharm test on cardiac.. anything else?
Can you tell why so many people were dropped from your cohort? And about how challenging the coorifice load is? How common were people failing? I am waiting to hear back after my interview and am very interested in the program but I'm nervous if I would be able to keep up. I was previously in an Accelerated BSN program and struggled to keep up but I think it may have been that I simply didn't know what to expect from nursing school (previously a liberal arts major). I'm currently in the traditional, slower paced program and doing better but it is not my first choice program. Instead of continuing in this same program for 2 more years, I think I would like to try the MAGELIN program but I hesitate to commit to it if I'm unable to graduate. Sorry for all the questions but I'd appreciate any help!

I'm starting the last semester in January. What do you want to know?
