Has anyone applied for College of Mainland nursing program for Fall 2015?
I have submitted my orientation, nursing application, and **** records. It was news to me about the TSI since I have already turned everything in. I will take the TSI at either Alvin or San Jacinito since those are closest to me. I might as well take the TSI I want to optimize My chances of acceptance. :)
I hope we all get an acceptance! I'm sure like myself everyone just wants to start on our career as a Nurse. It will All be worth it.
I agree! I'm older now and wish I would fine nursing the first times around so I'm very anxious to get started and finish. I hope we all get in as well, I hear they have a great program. What other schools did apply to?
I only applied to this school. I missed the alvin deadline they only had a short application period. I went to an orientation and only 30 people get accepted and over 340 had already applied
So I have strong faith on this opportunity at COM! I'm going in on Monday to get details maybe I can just take the TSI while I'm there. The nerves are driving me nuts. I have a family and would like to just start going with the NURSING program this fall.
Yea I applied for Alvin in Fall 2014 and didn't get accepted just because my HESI reading score was 82 and the majority was above 86. It's very competitive! So I decided not to apply again cause that's crazy. They always have a lot of applicants and only a few spots but you get preference of you go to Alvin. I am applying to HCC as well and applied to 2 BSN programs. I noticed a lot of applicant have a family and are applying for nursing school. I hear it's rough, but you can do it!
I hope and pray I get accepted. I moved from the valley over here and family is helping us out while I finish school. If it's meant to be it will be. It is very competitive and that's why doing what you did is great. Applying to several places gives you your best chance. I don't even know my score for this application no one ever told me. I am a little confused. Hoping Monday to figure it all out.
Same here! I am praying to start somewhere this fall, I have to! That's great that you have people to support you, it's so important. I'm sure we will both get in! And yes, go there Monday and get all the info you can and you should be able to take the TSI there, I think it's $ 5.00 to take it. I wonder how many students are applying?
I have a friend currently in her second semester at COM and she said with them 100 or so applied and 70 got in. That's pretty promising. I like number versus some other schools that have crazy number of applications to number of people actually accepted. If the TSI test helps in any way I'll do it. I don't have a degree as of yet. I have all my prerequisites and classes needed during the nursing like humanities, lifespan, comp 2. So I hope all that gets considered. I'll definitely come back and post any useful information that can help anyone.
