College of the mainland- spring 2012 applications

Hello, I have just submitted my application for COM Spring 2012. Has anyone else applied for this semester? I heard there were not many applicants this year due to starting the TEAS V testing, many people apparently didn't pass. If anyone else applied let me know!

Any current COM students have any advice for a COM hopeful?

They sent me a letter saying I didn't meet the 2.80 GPA, but my Gps is 3.5 and has never been below a 3.0. I'm not sure of whats going on. I'll call monday, but with 99 being a top alternate I'm guessing I'd be low on the alternates list anyway.

Well dont give up yet!!! You never know how many people that got accepted are going to decline the offer. That can open up some spots.

ok so in case anyone is wondering...

I called this morning to get some info. 20 Students were sent acceptance letters. There are 10 Students in the Top Alternate group, and more alternates below that as well. All Letters of Intent must be submitted by October 6th at 5pm. If you do not submit this letter you are assumed to have declined the offer. That goes for accepted and alternate students.

Sooo if you are an alternate and cant wait to know if you are going to get in then the next time to call and check is October 7th/8th. I was told that alternates get in every semester but no guarantee on how many.

I was the 6th Top Alternate... fingers are crossed :-)
