College of the mainland- spring 2012 applications

Hello, I have just submitted my application for COM Spring 2012. Has anyone else applied for this semester? I heard there were not many applicants this year due to starting the TEAS V testing, many people apparently didn't pass. If anyone else applied let me know!

Any current COM students have any advice for a COM hopeful?

I dont know anyone in it currently but I have several friends that graduated from COM. They all say that the small class sizes are the biggest plus at COM.

I have also heard some unflattering things about the SJC program but not from anyone who actually attended there.

I can't wait to know if I got in... And then get the program started... And then be DONE!!! lol

I can't not wait to be DONE either!! Post here when you get your (acceptance) letter! Lol! If I get anymore info I'll post it here as well!

I have applied for the Sp term. I have 124 pnts. Great to hear about the low number of applicants. I also have aps pending at UTMB but that is one slow moving train over there.

applied for the spring as well, I currently have 90 points. I'm not sure if that'll be good enough- hoping. The teas killed me. I would've had 130 pts with the accuplacer. Any body know the cut off yet?

Yea, I had 40 pnts with accuplacer. The switch to TEAS cut me by 20 pnts. I had taken the full TEAS for another school and did well but COM just picked out the reading score to calculate points.

wondering why they switched? I didn't get any extra points on the teas all my points came from prereqs. waiting game now. wish I knew waht the cut off is.

I got my letter... I'm a "Top Alternate". So now I'm very nervous. I applied with 99 points.

If you all don't mind posting your points applied with when you post your acceptance status would help me figure out how to feel about my alternate status :-(
