College of the Canyons (COC) ADN Fall 2021

Published

Hello everyone!
I have not seen a forum for COC's Fall 2021 ADN program, so I decided to make one for all applicants to ask questions, share stats, and talk about anything relating to the application process.

Multi-criteria screening points: https://www.canyons.edu/_resources/documents/academics/nursing/MULTICRITERIASCREENING101916.pdf

I believe I calculated 76 points.. I don't feel like this is as competitive, but I believe it is worth a shot.

Good luck to everyone applying!

So, a staff member confirmed with me that we will have a status update starting 3/31, and the final selection process until 4/30. Makes me so nervous!

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to ask; if we have already taken the TEAS should we automatically send it to COC or wait until they tell us to send them the score?

Hello,

I called the office in February to ask them that question because I took the TEAS with Moorpark college and they advised me to wait and send it when they request it.

Hey everyone! I'm a reapply to COC for Fall 2021. Good luck!!

Most schools I’ve applied to I have anywhere from 68-73 points. High grades, but no work experience. I’m a single mama  of three so part of me getting in will be pure luck!! If I don’t get in this round, I’m get a job at a hospital.

That's great! You'll make it in somewhere. GL ?

Hello everyone,

Do you guys know what criteria they have when sending out invitation to take the TEAS?

I think we have to make their cutoff points this year (before TEAS). I'm not sure what it is for this year though. We should get a status email by next week 3/31. ?

Also, may I ask what are your stats? I also remember seeing you in the CSULA forum. :0 If you don't want to answer, it's okie!

Hello! Yes, for CSULA they said they rejected me because of my TEAS score. Apparently they look at each individual score/subject and said they wanted a minimum of 80% , which I find sus because when they first sent me the reason why I was rejected they told me my prereqs were incomplete.

These are my stats:

GPA: 4.0 (Cumulative + pre-reqs)

TEAS: 84%

Bilingual

I do not have work experience / not much volunteer experience

I was rejected by most of the CSUs I applied to (I'm thinking maybe because of my TEAS score), although I am still waiting for CSUB and UCI + CCs. I'm really hoping I get into a program, doesn't really matter where LOL ?  I'm getting discouraged because I do not want to take a gap year but I hope it all works out for all of us!! This is my first time applying to COC's program!

Also, I was reading the scholastic eligibility thing on COC's nursing website and it says "students must have a minimum required score of 70 to be eligible for admission"... Does that pertain to the score from the multi-criteria screening points?? Or is that a different one?
