Cochran School of Nursin - Spring 2014

Published

Hello

I applied for the Cochran School of Nursing for the Spring of 2014. Today I took the TEAS, and they had me do a writing sample on the spot, and I also had an interview with a faculty member. I'm hoping these are all very good signs, and am waiting to hear! They said I should hear at the end of October.

Is anyone else applying? Has anyone else heard anything?

Hey, I applied as well; for "evening" Spring 2014. I'm scheduled to take the TEAS at another location (next month, mid Oct) and will just have it sent to Cochran. Those signs sound great to me, all the best to you. So...what you think of the test?

I applied for the evening program also! For me, the science and math were very difficult. I prepared with the ATI study book and Khan Academy online. I took the TEAS for another school a few months ago, and my score went up 10 points since then so I am very happy. I would suggest getting the practice tests from ATI so that you can get a feel for the real test. That will also show you where your strengths and weaknesses are. Just study very hard. Good Luck!!

Thank you, and I am. May I ask, what your score was? I'm currently studying from 3 manuals: the ATI manual, McGraw-Hill 5 TEAS practice exam and the McGraw-Hill Nursing School Entrance exams manual (has 8 practice test)...been at it for about 3 months now. I pray it pays off...

I got a 75. I was hoping to do better, but the science section was really tough on my exam. I hope thats enough to get in!

So I'm hearing about the science section...some say ATI covered everything, then others say the section was much broader than ATI's manual. That is a good score though, all we can do is our very best...stay positive.

They called me earlier today - I was accepted for the evening program beginning in January 2014!!!!!!!!! I am thrilled to say the least. All that hard work finally paid off!

Congrats to you both. I am applying for the day program for Spring 14. I am supposed to take the TEAS next month. If you do not mind what did you both score on the TEAS?

Just wondering if everyone got an interview the same day as they took the TEAS. I did get a proficient score, and wrote the essay but no interview that day or a call yet, (it's been less than a week). I have a high GPA too and all of my pre and co req's b/c I want to go at night, but I'm starting to worry that b/c I scored low on the Math I won't get in b/c of that? I know they are doing TEAS testing on 11/5; they are the last group. I don't understand how they can call and accept ppl before all the applicants get a chance to take TEAS. In any event, congratulations to you on your acceptance!

How is the program so far? What is the schedule like for classes! I hope you are doing really well and wish you the best of luck!
