Has anyone been accepted to Cochran School of Nursing for Fall 2010?

I'm on the waiting list for the evening program...when i applied to the day program. I wasn't aware they had a waiting list? had anyone else been waitlisted?!

Wow i neva heard of their waiting list but, more likely everyone that is excepted will not actually enter the program. LOL did they tell u what ur number on the waiting is? N actually i did read a post on here about someone being accepted at the last last minute. They had to rush to get everything completed soooo hopefully there is still a chance 4 u. U also said u wanted the day program but they offered the evening? GOODLUCK :}

I never heard of a waiting list for that school before and I already handed all the paper work in,took the entrance exam and had the interview. I asked for the day program and they're telling me i'm waitlisted for the evening program? It doesn't make any sense. So i have to wait and hope for that someone drops out basically? Or just apply for spring semester?Every time i call for information the same lady gives me an attitude rather than just answering my questions and being straight forward. Some people are so rude.

I think a lot of students request the day program. If you really want to get in go for the evening or even the Sat class.

i told her the evening program is fine keeping in mind that i really want to get in. so i'm on a waiting list now to get into the EVENING class. this means if i get in im going to be coming home at like 12-1 AM

Where do you live? I'm in the Sat class. I live in Queens and that was better for me. Supposedly, the clinicals are throughout the city and lecture is on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. I'll pray for you. I hope everything goes well for you!

Thanks. I appreciate it.I live in Queens also (Rosedale). Do you think I would have a better chance of getting in right away if I asked to be switched to the saturday class? Is it just every saturday or is it the full weekend? How does that work?I can't imagine going to class once a week?But if it betters my chances I don't see a problem with asking to be changed...

Hi I am looking at Cochran and I am confused with some things...

If I want to get in for Spring '11, and I have cpr, AP1-2, Nutrition, but a low Teas(taken March), I plan on taking Micro in Fall at my current college. Will it diminish my chances of being considered, because it said Most should be finished Before

I lost hope at my current college since they only accept 50 out of 750 applicants.. :( what are the steps I would go through?

Cochran School of Nursing

Hope this helps.

I'd say just make sure you have all your paperwork together with your transcripts,application and syllabi. Make sure to take the CPR class, a&p I and II and microbiology first before you apply otherwise they make you take them at Mercy college before they really consider your application. Then you have to take the TEAS exam and then they call you to go on an interview. Give it 2-3 months for them to get back to you because the admissions committee meet once in the beginning of every month.

I have a question. I will be applying for Cochran for the spring. I have the TEAS study manual edition 3.0. Is this the correct verison, or should I have "v" or "3.0/4.0" Thank you

MilenaRyan,

When i took my teas (summer 09) i used the 3.0 /4.0 version. However, i believe beginning fall, the exam required is versionV. Version V is the same exam w/additional science questions. Their older versions contained science but the questions varried n r quite unorganized. Version V study manual n test supposedly will be a more balanced version. Ive heard alot of people didnt do as well on science soo the company had to adjust the exam to better fit what type of material is covered in the book.

Also, as for the cpr make sure that u register for the Healthcare Provider CPR not the heartsaver CPR. There is a difference b/c i do have a cpr card n it has not expired but it is not the type for nurses or nurising students.

PS.. Teas exams can be retaken every 6 months a maximum 3 times @ cochran i believe.
