I'm starting this thread for everyone applying for COC's spring 2014 RN program. Please feel free to join in. We're all in this together! For anyone who's thinking of applying, the deadline for turning in your transcripts and requesting your prerequisite evaluation is tomorrow!
I'm an LVN hoping to get into the LVN to RN program. I applied last year and received an email notifying me that I qualified for the program but that they didn't have the required 20 qualified LVN applicants to offer the class. Booo hooo hooo... Oh well, I completed all of the General Ed classes in the meantime and have my fingers crossed for this time around :-)
I'm a little nervous about the TEAS V test and am starting to study for it. I read that the test is pretty challenging. Yikes!
I look forward to hearing from my fellow nail-biters!
I thought the program percentile was the percentile rank of people who took the TEAS at COC also, but after digging around the ATI website, I found the answer on the last page of my score report.
"Percentile Rank - Program:
The program percentile rank refers to the proportion of test takers from your specific type of nursing program (within a specified sample from the ATI data pool) whose scores were the same as or lower than your individual score."
If I'm interpreting it correctly, it sounds like it represents the percentile rank of (in our case) all those who are applying to an ADN program, rather than just those who are applying to COC's ADN program.
Jlwinkle1015,
Thanks for the information! I know I just want it to end already and get a definitive answer. But I do think this is a very good sign, it wouldn't make sense to give that info to everyone that applied only to accepted people and alternates. I guess you never know though. Hoping for the best for all of us!
This will be my third orientation at COC (alternate twice) and that's definitely how they get the orientation details to us. If you're an alternate you only print some of it and bring it with you and if you're in the program then we have about a month to get it all done. So I guess we'll continue to wait for this email!
Crossing my fingers for you and everyone on here!!

I logged in to Blackboard and there is an announcement that says "Welcome to the Registered Nursing Program" and there are buttons on the left to access orientation information. It says the announcement was posted on July 26, 2011??? In folder two it lists items that are due November 22, 2013, which include a physical and TB test???
What posting date does it show on your announcement?
I hope, hope, hope it means we're in!

A percentile means that you did better than 93% of all the people that have taken the TEAS at COC. But idk if they take it from everyone that has ever taken the TEAS or just for this application period.
Hope that helps and good luck!! I'm so anxious for the email, hopefully we get it tomorrow or earlier! Good luck everyone :)
