I'm starting this thread for everyone applying for COC's spring 2014 RN program. Please feel free to join in. We're all in this together! For anyone who's thinking of applying, the deadline for turning in your transcripts and requesting your prerequisite evaluation is tomorrow!
I'm an LVN hoping to get into the LVN to RN program. I applied last year and received an email notifying me that I qualified for the program but that they didn't have the required 20 qualified LVN applicants to offer the class. Booo hooo hooo... Oh well, I completed all of the General Ed classes in the meantime and have my fingers crossed for this time around :-)
I'm a little nervous about the TEAS V test and am starting to study for it. I read that the test is pretty challenging. Yikes!
I look forward to hearing from my fellow nail-biters!
Tiktokk,I went into the "express registration" on my canyons and entered in the section numbers and was able to see the times there :)
Are you at Holy Cross also?
Thank you for this tip...it worked! And yep, I'm at Holy Cross. If I remember correctly, it was on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
2dawn are you in the bridge program? It was my understanding that clinicals do not start until a month or two after we start the program, at least for the RN program.
Non bridge program students should be starting clinicals on April 1st. However, "skills lab" will start on Feb 11. I'm quite certain that uniforms will be required for skills lab. Dove states a ship date of two weeks prior to "clinicals" on 1/27...which is exactly two weeks before the day of our first skills lab.
Crossing my fingers that these things fit! lol!
It sounds like they based the uniform ship date on the new RN cohort and forgot about the LVN to RN students :-/ I'll call the Allied Health office when they return from the holidays.

When I attended orientation a couple of years ago, they said that up to ten percent of the students are admitted into the program through the lottery. There are more factors taken into account than just grades, such as the TEAS V test score and experience. At the orientation, they said that the TEAS V score is weighted the most heavily.
In case anyone wanted to know I finally got a hold of Dove and they said if you do need to exchange your uniforms make sure you use the online return form and NOT the mail paper form ("it could take weeks or months if this form is used"). Through the online one Dove will send the replacements "within 2 business days". You will have to pay for return shipping with tracking, but they will send you the replacements free of shipping cost.
Hey Erick2768
I got this one off amazon and bundled it with the pen light (6 pack). My check out total was less than $30, especially if you've signed up for the free student prime shipping package: FREE 2-day shipping. Here's the link.

Hi everyone! I am looking to apply to several schools coming this February. Does anyone know how COC selects students? I realize there is a lottery, but wasnt sure exactly how it works. Some say they fill first with the hopefuls that have the best grades and then there is a lottery after. You know the rumor mill....Anyone that can provide me with info, is greatly appreciated!
