CNO VS VISA

Published

Hi. I would like to ask for help because right now, I have a pending application with cno. Can you give me an insight on what to do because is it possible if I'm eligible to take the exam in canada and I don't have any visa, how is it possible. I want to clarify because some say that I can ask for a tourist visa to go to canada to take my exam. Is it also possible while I'm staying as a tourist can I actually apply for a temporary working permit AT CANADA???pls help thanks!, pls help =)

You may obtain a tourist visa to write the exam but you cannot work at all while on a tourist visa. Canadian immigration is cracking down hard on all those who are knowingly breaking the rules. If you're deported for something like this you will not be allowed back into Canada for at least 10 years. You will be expected to provide acceptable proof of your intent to return to your home country when you apply for your tourist visa; what this proof is comprised of will depend largely on where you're coming from. Temporary work permits, as silverdragon102 states, are based on labour market opinions (LMOs) issued by the province. They are documents that indicate that the position a foreign worker is being hired for cannot or would likely not be filled by a Canadian worker. Right now they're in short supply as there are many Canadian nurses who are unemployed or under-employed and looking for work. ESPECIALLY in Ontario. Simply being eligible for registration in Canada is no guarantee of employment. You need to consider this in your plans.

Securing an employment really seem to be very hard these days, specially for IEN. Then why are there frequent news like "Shortage of Nurses in Canada" when actually there are plenty of local and foreign nurses looking for jobs desperately but can not secure one because of inadequate recruiters or vacancies? Appears to me like depicting an unrealistic picture. It is really very frustrating!:banghead:

They want your money. They charge a lot of cash to "process your paperwork" but make no guarnatees that you'll succeed at any of it. And when the process fails they blame you, or the province, or immigration. Then they hustle off with your money, laughing all the way to the bank. For a very brief moment back in 2007, there was a shortage of nurses in Canada that was very quickly filled by the early-birds who got their foot in the door for the short time it was open. But if the agencies and recruiters told people that they'd have no business.

Who is putting out these reports? If it's recruitment agencies, ask them for details. Like Jan said, they are in the business of selling dreams
